I absolutely love the Contemporary. It's classic Disney World.

I remember when I was a kid in the year 2000 going to Disney for the first time and being blown away when we came through the middle of the hotel on the monorail. That's one of my childhood memories that I'll never forget.

I am 52, my parents took us to Disney World every year until I was 20, since 1971 (I was 6 months old, lol). We have stayed in various resorts but for some reason, we always went back the Contemporary. Leaving our room and getting onto the Monorail was the best. My husband has never been to Disney and I want a Contemporary experience for him. I have so many memories of this resort. Thank you for the video!

I was there as a kid in 1973. There was a restaurant in the central atrium where I ate lasagna, while the monorail passed through.

It is amazing how far Disney hotels had come between 1956 and 1971 (when Walt Disney World opened). The first ever Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim is very different to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The monorail goes right through the lobby at The Contemporary Resort. Even fifty years later, The Disney’s Contemporary Resort still remains one of a kind and there is no other hotel like it anywhere else in the world.

This was the first Disney resort I ever saw in the 70s . Then over the years. Wow have they improved and updated it, while keeping the retro theme. And the whole fireworks show - I did not remember how well you could see it!

The last time I went to Disney in 2008 this is where we stayed. I still can not forget the experience we had there. One month later my dad passed, even now I don't know if these memories are good or bad.

Chef Mickey's was my favorite restaurant as a kid in the 90s... it's been year's since I've been back but I bed it's still great for kids and some adults as well... I believe that it has a great view of some of the fireworks 🎆 at least the lake show (if they still do that

I just remember taking the monorail through this place maybe in the year 1996. I thought it was a very Polynesian/native American type of place with some artwork on the walls as a train went through

My husband and I stayed there several times the 80s and 90s. It remodeled a couple of times over that span. There were two garden wings then - one has been replaced by the Disney timeshare thing. Back then as season pass holders we could stay for less than $100 a night. We spent a hurricane there in the garden wing - it wasn't too nasty but the parks closed and workers couldn't come to work or go home if they were at work because the roads were jammed. The hotel gave us a flashlight and told us to bring the patio furniture in. Only one restaurant was open and it had only Italian buffet, but it only cost $5 that night.

We just came back from the wilderness Lodge two weeks ago and we already booked on next vacation in December 2024 for the Polynesian but I think I’m gonna cancel the Polynesian and make it for the contemporary main building. My wife is dying to go to the Polynesian I myself don’t like hotels where most of the rooms are outside the main building I like being in one building so if it’s a bad weather day like the 48 hours I had just a few weeks ago with nonstop rain I can go to the arcade I can get food without walking in the rain. And I never been to the contemporary. The only thing I don’t like about the bounce back offer and this is the first time I’m using it is there’s a lot of blackout dates a lot of them or they only do three days in a row which I’m not going on a vacation for three days that makes no sense to me, so I have to see now about the contemporary. Or maybe I should actually look into a hotel with Universal as I like the parks actually may be better because with the express pass, I don’t have to do all these crazy things to get on rides and if my son enjoys a ride, I could actually go on it more than oncewithout doing something crazy like at Disney Disney really needs to step up their game and offer express passes you could pay for.

I had planned to book this hotel, but the price tag is outrageous. To me, it reminds me of the Luxor in Las Vegas, a $20-$50 per night hotel. I cannot justify the inflated $900 per night price tag! For $900, I can stay at the Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons.
