Despite nature taking over, this is probably one of the best preserved abandoned sites you'll ever see. Thanks to being an island, its naturally protected from vandals and the only people who go there have been very respectful to the now fragile structures. Its a refreshing sight for sure after exploring so many abandoned industrial sites that kids just trash.
@ScientificallyStupid3 жыл бұрын
I visited it when I was 7 in '84 and I can still remember what it was like. I love seeing these videos- it just reminds you how relentless nature really is, a few years without people and the trees are taking over, and it's relative inaccessibility keeps it preserved. Very different from abandoned malls or subway stations.

Well that shit hole belongs to them so if they don't want to clean it up then they don't have to and no one is supposed to be there so no one has to look at it. Same as your room when your on your own, your shit your mess to look at and no one can tell you shit about it.

Oh man somehow I'd missed this and good lord is it a gem. Too cool right here. I still remember visiting the place in the early 90's and it's a real trip to see it cordoned off, forgotten and left to the elements to decay with time and weather immemorial. This is my peak YT right here. 0% clickbait, 100% awesome from concentrate.

Jake, this video was so good. I had seen MattSonswa's video before this and I was wondering what the buildings and pathways were, so your narration was really interesting. Would it be possible for you to make a video like this using Matt's Body Wars and Cranium Command videos? I think it'd be cool to see something about the Wonders of Life pavilion since there's rumors that it will be demolished.

I worked there for a year in 1979. I know ever aspect of the island. I prepared the good for all the animals as well as collecting the trash from the bins and cleaning cages. For all the animals. It was a beautiful paradise. A dream job. But I left it because of the neglect and abuse the animals sustained by the then curator of the island. Way too many animals were dying. That wasn’t what I signed up for. So I quit.
