Robert does treat Morgan like a mini adult, with "grown-up girl bonding time" and whatnot, so she might have gotten the preteen/teen "boys are visual creatures with next to no restraint" talk a good bit early from Robert, so she wouldn't get her heart broken early, with him being so cynical that he doesn't even find it strange that he's telling this to a *six-year-old.*

I think it would've been better if Giselle and Robert just helped each other get more out of their relationships. Giselle would get Robert to open himself to more romantic gestures and see the value in treating as something "more". Robert, meanwhile, would teach Giselle how to have meaningful relationships and get to know someone intimately before completely tying yourself to them. Robert would discover things about Nancy he never knew he loved and grow happier for it. Giselle would find that Phillip has some oafish qualities and has more than a little ego, but at his core is a good man who she could learn to love. Robert would truly be ready to take that next big step with Nancy, and Giselle would be ready to start her romantic journey with Phillip, adventuring together.

When Edward asks Nancy to dance at the ball it's because the man said it's the time when you dance with someone that you didn't come with
@JayietheRiverWarrior2 жыл бұрын
Maybe it’s a stretch, but it feels like Giselle has some sort of… latent aura of fairytale magic around her, not something she can actively control (until the sequel apparently), but that influences the world as she interacts with it and makes things just a little more fairytale-ish around her - most notably seen during “That’s how you know”, of course. But anyway, my headcanon is that it was her fairytale aura magic that influenced the ball and made the whole “switch partners for the sad longing romantic dance number” thing happen, because it’s what she secretly wanted.

Shoutout to ALL the love this film gave to Disney OGs ♥ here's my top faves. Starting with Julie Andrews, Mary Poppins, is the opening narrator! 1. Jodi Benson, who is the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, has an on-camera role in Enchanted. Benson plays Sam, Robert's secretary at the law firm. 2. Scene where Edward is flipping through TV channels in the hotel room, and a former Disney voice actor is portraying a soap opera star. Paige O'Hara voiced Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and she plays Angela in the soap opera that Edward pauses to watch. 3. Judy Kuhn provided the singing voice to Pocahontas in the animated film, and she also has a brief cameo appearance in Enchanted. Kuhn's character is a pregnant mother and a tenant in Robert's apartment building, and Edward accidentally stumbles upon her door instead of Robert's as he searches for Giselle. 4. Ilene Woods (the voice of Cinderella) and Mary Costa (the voice of Aurora in Sleeping Beauty) both make a brief appearance as guests at the ball. 5. Edward searches for Giselle downtown while she is eating at the Bella Notte restaurant, a reference to the adorable scene from Lady and the Tramp. 6. Robert’s law firm is named after Snow White and the Seven Dwarf’s songwriters: Frank Churchill, Leigh Harline, and Paul J. Smith. 7. Nancy’s last name is Tremaine, a reference to the wicked stepmother in Cinderella. 8. One of the elderly men dancing with yellow flowers appeared in Mary Poppins (1964!) as a chimney sweep!

And Idina Menzel, who plays Nancy is the voice of Elsa from Frozen. There's also an easter egg to her time as a Broadway star with the "Wicked" billboard in the background of the bus scene, which she was one of the original lead cast members.
@taylorkatemc2 жыл бұрын
@@lynnamc524 I think I always omit the Elsa connection because Idina played Elsa *after* this movie came out, so it's more a happy coincidence for that one rather than an intentional hyping of the OG Disney folks. @lynnamc5242 жыл бұрын

I was having a blast every time I saw your bitter face because I felt exactly the same about Giselle and Robert's relationship! It's sweet and I know we're supposed to root for these two, but Nancy and Edward were just done so dirty. Like, Edward came all the way to the real world and was looking for Giselle relentlessly just to get replaced like this. He was ready to face whatever "danger" might've awaited him there. He didn't have someone who would show him around and teach him how stuff works here either. Meanwhile Giselle got lucky enough with having someone who would teach her about all these things on top of taking care of her. Making her fall for Robert after only two days and then she didn't even really want to spend a longer amount of time with Edward in order to give him a chance to get to know eachother better. Then we got Nancy, who was so incredibly kind and chill about the whole deal too. Like, as soon as Robert was able to explain things she was very understanding about the whole situation and actually trusted him when he said that there's nothing to worry about. Only to get ditched like this too! I agree 100% with Mello and wouldn't have been so kind about the whole thing either. They've been in a relationship for how long? Five years? And Robert apparently never bothered to spend some good quality time together with Nancy or keep things more transparent with his daughter but then immediately throws this longterm relationship out of the window as soon as he gets to spend some time together with a woman who just happened to randomly fall into this arms. Come on! This really makes me wonder if Nancy and Edward were only written to end up together in order to not make Giselle and Robert look too bad. Also, the way Nancy got antagonized by his daughter. Sorry to break it to you kid but technically Giselle is now your stepmom and Nancy is the princess.
@tmm41952 жыл бұрын
After Giselle went to the real world, her and Edward never would've worked out. Edward's a good guy, but he's that typical Disney prince and Giselle didn't want that anymore. Plus, does Giselle really owe Edward anything after only knowing him for like two days lol. Also, Nancy and Robert wouldn't have worked out either. He was a bit too cynical, and she was a low key romantic. It all worked out for the best.
@AkaNovaChan2 жыл бұрын
@@tmm4195 I think you're missing some points here. Giselle was nothing but a typical Disney "princess"character as well. (She still kinda is) The difference is that Giselle was able to spend more time adjusting to the real world thanks to Robert, while Edward spent most of his time in the real world looking for Giselle. If he got the same "welcome package" like Giselle, who knows how that would've impacted his character and at the end of the day Giselle still didn't really want to invest more time into getting to actually know him better. Also, sorry but Giselle only knew Robert for two days as well before deciding that it's either Robert or that shady apple. Also, Robert was literally singing to Giselle at this one point at the ball, which is also kinda lowkey romantic? He just put more dedication into it for Giselle. And even if things magically worked out in the end, treating their partners like this still wasn't okay, at least in my book.
@tmm41952 жыл бұрын
@@AkaNovaChan Giselle didn’t know Robert for long, but she knew him for longer than two days. At least a few weeks. You are talking like they treated their love interests horribly, but the realistic truth is that they just fell for different people. It’s how things work sometimes. Also Giselle gave Edward a chance when they went on a date, but she still wasn’t feeling him. I think it says a lot about Nancy and Edward as well that they literally left with each other the same day. They were clearly not that upset about it lol
@AkaNovaChan2 жыл бұрын
@@tmm4195 The main events of the movie literally took place within two days. And yes, they didn't treat them with much respect. However, this is still a Disney movie so of course everything worked out and we're not supposed to question things. Also, when you've mentioned that Giselle did give Edward a chance, are you talking about this rushed speeddate which lasted a couple of hours at best and was more about Giselle trying to buy time because she didn't want to leave, instead of actually getting to know Edward? Because I wouldn't really compare that to giving someone a real chance. And about the Nancy - Edward thing, that's actually why I was wondering if this was something they've added to the movie in the end in order to make things work out without making Robert and Giselle look too bad. It certainly has that "Screw Everyone" type of energy. But then again, Disney movie!
@tmm41952 жыл бұрын
@@AkaNovaChan If you’re not feeling a relationship with someone after a date, you have every right not to want to be with them. That’s kind of how dates work. Yes, Giselle going on a date with him for a few hours is giving Edward a chance. I also don’t get why you think they didn’t treat Edward with respect. They never treated him with disrespect and they were kind to him. Also, Edward was begging Robert to kiss Giselle and save her life. He just wanted her to live and be happy. It’s not like Edward was in love with Giselle. He was in love with the idea of love and happily ever after.
