It's mind-numbing to see how far Disney has fallen. Burbank has become arrogant and hubris in THE most spectacular way. They are treating the Disney logo like it is bulletproof...and it's absolutely NOT! It took great men and women almost 100 years to build the customer loyalty, goodwill and that bright halo over it's logo. It seems to me that they are burning that historic halo down as FAST as they can. Burbank cares more about propping up Disney Plus at the expense of the parks now. You are right, if they "could" afford to build a new land, it would be lighting fast for Disney to do that in 5-6 years. So, the BEST case scenario would 2029-2031? Oh wait, we got Tiana's employee owned co-op salt mine attraction in the next two years! Well? thankfully Orlando attractions has no new competition to challenge in the Disney future...whew!

It is now common practice to burn through consumer trust by lowering product quality and/or increasing costs. It's easy to see with Disney and especially prevalent in restaurant chains now. Consumer loyalty and goodwill has a value that can be extracted to boost the bottom line for a short sighted CEO.

The '30s and '40s were the big band era. Any promised evocation of the golden age of "Jollywood" needs to reflect what was distinctive about that time. Disney should have had a 15-17 piece band by the Tower of Terror (not a tiny combo) and a jazz quartet in the Brown Derby (not a solo pianist). That could have been entertainment worth paying for. This is where the "cheap" criticism really hits the target.

The epcot renovations are such a disappointment. They basically walled off everything behind spaceship earth, demolished the fountain and one of the innovations buildings, changed all the grand plans of the festival center so now it’s an underwhelming area. About the only positive was moving the ugly legacy walls at the entrance and the stargate portal in the lagoon. Mary Poppins canceled. Play pavillion cancelled, 3 story festival center with open air rooftop cancelled.

Universal has built an entire new park in the time that Disney has done some landscape gardening in Epcot. No doubt they will have an 'exclusive' $150 dollar event' where you can queue for hours for the chance to purchase a 'limited edition' Epcot high viz vest from the 'Imagineers'. You want to know how to destroy an amazing legacy ? 'Ladies and gentlemen I present to you, the board of Disney !' Being unable to 'fix' the 'crooked circle' is going to give them hives! Wonder if that was done purposefully for some weird esthetic, or if folks just didn't get the measurements right on some blueprint? Or, given Disney's obvious ability to cheap out on important elements, they just didn't get the site surveying done properly? "We'll just plot a few less reference points and measure from those. I've gone to similar after hour events for Universal Studios Orlando for the past few years, and it seems like they do everything better than Disney. They let you in at 5:00 PM. They let you get your ticket hours before the event starts. They offer free food and drinks throughout the park, and some of the events have had buffet style where you grab what you want. They also seem to deliver on the promise that it's an exclusive event with a low amount of tickets sold where you actually feel like the parks are empty. It's to the point where that's the only way i go to Universal Studios now. Disney should really look to see how Universal runs things so they at least don't have to keep starting from scratch each time they try a new event.

@@markgroglio9922 they may but to many the Disney parks product is in decline. Universal is also a lot smaller (overall when compared to Disney) however many of the things they are building are closing the gap. If Disney and Universal keep going on the same trajectory Universal may one day pass Disney (may take some years but is not out of question). Universal is building a New Park that is heavily themed. Theming, which is why they are called Theme Parks, has always gone well with people. Example, there are many older people (GenX) who grew up on Nintendo/Mario. Mario is still popular with the current generations and Millenials. Who wouldn't want to experience Mario world. People like Harry Potter - a lot of people are going to want to experience what Universal is putting together. All the while Disney is detheming their hotels and cutting back on small expenses that make up the magic (XMas lights for the Castle, not paining it, etc.). Yet Disney continues to charge a premium. Disney, nor Universal, are inexpensive but for the middle class money and budget are definitley a thing. When the middle (many of whom save for years to come to Disney) aren't getting that premium experience from their 2 to 3 years of vacation expereince that they use to get they are going to leave the Disney product. Universal may not be as great as Disney but if the offer a better value people will migrate there. Also - Universal seems to be in the emerging stage - with the right product, execution, management, and customer service they could put a dent into the Disney customer base. if I were Univeral this would be my plan (especially with Disney being the shit show that it is now) and if I were Disney I would be worried. Very worried. Especially with Universal brining a new park in the next 2025. They are going to siphon off customers who may have spent their entire Orlando trip at Disney now allocating some of their time to Universal.

@@MickeyViewsWow. The marketing lingo Josh is using is actually nauseating for this theme park fan….”we have so many stories to tell” - yuch. So everything at the parks has to be a byproduct of one of their movies. The word “adventure” is becoming so overused that it begins to lose its special meaning. I guess “Adventureland” does not mean anything special anymore. I have been mesmerized by Disney’s unique thematic immersive design since my first magical visit to Disneyland as a 10 year old Canadian in 1969. The magic lasted I guess until the opening of Animal Kingdom. Then - the magic started dying. I could think of scores of original themed attractions for the 4 WDW parks along with 100’s of other WDW fans. Maybe the company could start asking US for advice. But I guess that ain’t gonna happen. I feel like another major issue with this park for holiday events is just the layout. At MK the Hub and Main Street are the highlight. So even as you visit other areas, you’re constantly traversing the “main” area for the event. At DHS they put the “main” holiday area on a dead end street with one thrill ride.

The lack of themed costumes right outside the Tower is ridiculous and very telling. Also the fact that they weren’t primed to pivot for snafus that inevitably arise - many of which were completely predictable based on previous events - shows the poor level of expectation of quality. The brand truly has fallen so badly.

Well done! I love that you spent the first half of the video pointing out Disney’s cheap and lackluster decisions, THEN talk about the supposed park expansions. They’ll claim the DVC expansions are a part of this expansion efforts, but I’m highly skeptical.

I just got back from WDW. It rained practically the whole trip but we still had fun. Most rides were walk-ons, including Flight of Passage and Rise of the Resistance, Chichester never happens! We were debating whether to go to MVMCP but I’m so glad we did! I cannot recommend it enough! It’s been years since I’ve attended that party and it’s gotten a lot better. Back then there was just sugar cookies and hot cocoa available. We loved the variety of cookies and drinks available. AND unlimited! The Dreamlights need to come back! They just do. These holiday projections just look sad and cheap. Underwhelming. Come on Disney! You can do better than this! Another thing I was disappointed in was the room decor. We stayed at All Star Movies and they was nothing in the room to indicate that’s where we were staying. It just seems like a generic room with some pictures of Mickey and the gang. That’s it! Very sad that Disney has taken away all this theming which made staying on property magical. I’m so glad these Epcot walls will be coming down soon. Several times I took a wrong turn only to have to retrace my steps and figure out another way to my destination. In the rain while pushing a wheelchair. Good times! 😉 I have to give kudos to all the cast members though. They were all outstanding! BIG 👍s up!

It would have cost less money and time to upgrade the fountain and make it even more cooler. Imagine the light shows they do now on spaceship earth, but the fountain also did things in sync with it too. Seemed like a no-brainer to me. Also, add projections on the buildings in the area similar to Main Street. It's not bad to only spend a little money as long as you spend it smartly and in ways that would result in huge wins for guests.
