We have a new patreon - / dazzvideos - check it out!
The movie SO BAD, I didn't even realise it was an official Disney product. This is Disney's The Wild. An egregious copy of DreamWorks' Madagascar, whilst also taking all sorts of marks from their own Lion King. It's not a rip-off if you're taking from yourself! With all the more dated beats, unfortunate ironies and an overall unremarkable product - come join our chronological beat down as we run through a studio in 3D panic. This is Disney's TERRIBLE Madagascar Rip-Off...

It reminds me of how people sees _Antz_ as a _A Bug's Life_ rip-off despite the movie came out a month before _A Bug's Life_ released in the same year and they both have similar premises. Heck, even John Lasseter and Steve Jobs believed that their idea was stolen by Katzenburg.

The Wild was actually a collaboration between Disney and C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures, which is a Canadian CGI studio, this was its first and only animated feature. C.O.R.E. had collaborated with Disney before, such as Flubber 1996 and Beverly Hills Chihuahua, but ultimately, C.O.R.E. went defunct in 2010, and left behind this blotch carrying the Disney banner.

I mean as much as this being a rip-off aside, can I just ask if anyone else found it odd that this and Madagascar were set in the Central Park Zoo? I mean don't get me wrong, the CPZ is lovely and all, but it's way too small to fit most of the animals featured in either movie; the Bronx zoo is right there and it can fit all the animals featured in either film. NYC/S isn't just Manhattan (there's a whole other 4 boroughs in the city).
