Lots of Gaston bias here. Ok, Gaston is stronger and... that's it. Clayton has better weapons, is more skilled, intelligent and accurate, is fast enough to nearly keep up with Tarzan (who can keep up with a Leopard) and well... that's really all he needs, Gaston's only real showing was against a depressed beast who pretty much refused to fight back and when he did it's not like beast has ever fought a day in his life as a man or as a beast, against the wolves he just used brute strength but against someone like Gaston (who's not even smart) he can barely keep up, against Clayton beast would probably become a fur pelt, unfortunately. Gaston would probably just get shot immediately, the end, Clayton can flip his double barrel shotgun up from the ground and fire two shots with perfect accuracy in less than a second.

You make some good points, but may I also point out: Clayton had trouble keeping up with Tarzan while Tarzan was UNARMED. While this doesn't guarantee beating Gaston, it certainly shows he's probably not going to be able to just shoot Gaston and be done with it.

Gaston would destroy Clayton just by staring him in the eye. Gaston was able to match the strength of the beast who could lift nearly 20 tonnes! Claytons strength is nothing compared to Gastons considering that when Clayton fought Tarzan he lost miserablely. It was particularly embarrassing for Clayton considering that he fired a bullet at Tarzan causing him to be weakened by it and yet Tarzan was still able to beat Clayton in a fight. To add to this, Gaston has brute force, strength and weopans. Clayton only has a knife and gun.

This fight easily goes to Gaston, while Clayton is Smarter and Faster, Gaston's strength is so incredible he's able to match the Beast's strength Yes, THE BEAST a creature that is able to lift a 15 ton pipe organ.

I think Clayton’s skill with weapons would pull through since keep in mind during most of the fight Beast wasn’t really trying and also Beast doesn’t have too much skill. He beat the wolves although he was also severely injured in this fight.

@@liljfjd2938 intelligence goes a long way but if the disparity of power and skill between two people is big enough it becomes irrelevant in a straight fight unless the opponent is given time to prepare.

That’s because the beast wasn’t giving it his all. Plus, Gaston shot an arrow at him so that’s going to slow him down. If he had fought the beast a few years prior, where he was cold and ruthless, Gaston would’ve been stomped

Clayton could've been using a double-barreled rifle, popular among big game hunters, even today. They have longer range, better accuracy, and hit with as much, if not more, punch as a high-powered shotgun.

While I agree that Gaston wins, I'm not sure if Clayton holds the edge in combat. He really hasn't been shown in a fight that puts him on Gaston's level.

Well, the edge was mostly contributed to his superior weapons and intelligence to come up with a strategy in a gunfight more so than his physical abilities in combat. One of the issues with Clayton is not knowing particularly where he stands in physical combat, because of the situation with his fight against Tarzan, but given the circumstances of this fight he has the upper hand in this department. Other than that, I don't see him holding an advantage in hand to hand. If this were just a contest of hand to hand only, Gaston would have taken the edge for it.

Although this is definitely true, Clayton's gun would naturally be able to shoot from an even farther range. For the most part, I was examining the functions of their weaponry along with what they're capable of with them, in addition to how the fight would play out.

Gaston wins. The times we’ve seen Clayton fight was with weapons, and still lost in the end to Tarzan, we’ve never seen him fight hand to hand with anyone. Gaston tho does use a knife to fight the Beast he does end up brawling with him later on in the scene, *please Note* the beast is almost a foot taller than Gaston and shows Physical prowess by lifting a Pianos and Literally fighting off a pack of wolves. Wolves have one of the strongest Mammalian bites in the Animal Kingdom and are fierce predators. Some people might say Clayton is more skilled with weapons than Gaston, but is he tho? Gaston legitimately sings about all the Animals he killed and it was shown on his wall of all the heads of Beasts he killed, meanwhile Clayton was never shown or confirmed to kill anything all we know he’s a guy that hates Gorillas.

I think Clayton would win, it would just be a one shot kill. Clayton is extremely well aimed at times shown in the movie he almost kills Tarzan while he was all the way up in the top of the trees and only aiming from where he heard sound. Also Tarzan has been shown to go hand to hand with a full grown silver back which seems impossible for any normal human with that in hand even if he’s weaken he still has a lot of arm strength yet at that Clayton was still able to swing blows. So I think Gaston is a little stronger but in reality I feel like Clayton would just shoot him and the battle would end at that.

In the strength department, Gaston wins with ease. He was shown to have lifted three women on a bench with one arm. He also grappled with a magical beast. Hand to hand, Gaston wins. Weapon wise Gaston wins aswell. He mastered the bow and arrow, knife and rifle

All of this was covered in the video. The only thing I would have to disagree on is the weapons section. Considering Gaston's archery equipment was not used for this fight his skill with the bow isn't a factor in this fight. As for his skill with the rifle; Gaston was using a blunderbuss in the film and while he is extremely proficient with his gun so is Clayton. Like I said in the video, Gaston's weapon has more limitations than Clayton's does given the disparity between their positions in the timeline. Clayton's equipment is superior and there's no way to get around that.

I think that the only way this encounter could be balanced was if both were fighting hand-to-hand.. and well if that was the case Gaston would probably still win, he was able to throw a 600 pounds beast through a window with a kick and lifted a table with 3 full grown women without effort. So Gaston definetly wins if we're talking about brute strenght alone.. otherwise there would be too much of a disadvantage between the technology Clayton has and the one Gaston can use.

Clayton is supior as far as smarts and brawn are concerned even tho gaston is bigger Clayton knocked down Tarzan who is strong enough to beat up kerchat but the only thing is Gaston actually killed the beast where as Clayton Failed to kill Tarzan The major difference is Gaston is still a man with many fears and Clayton is more like an animal himself and plus He's not cocky where gaston is extremely cocky

Yeah, Clayton is definitely smarter, however Gaston is much stronger. Although Clayton was successful in knocking Tarzan down, this was mostly due to the Wildman's injury. If he fought Tarzan prior to the gunshot wound, Clayton would have been beaten similar to Gaston when The Beast fought back. Despite the outcome of his fight with Beast, Gaston managed to grapple with his opponent proving to be a match for him in strength or at least hold his own. Unlike Tarzan, the Beast's injury didn't hinder his performance. Beyond that, I do agree with the idea of Clayton being more animalistic and to an extent; bloodthirsty, but that wouldn't be enough in this fight. Now, Gaston's arrogance is a huge problem for him in this fight and is part of why this fight is closer than some would expect.

I really think its one way I believe Gaston was successful because the movie was very cartoonish at first as Gaston in 2017 did not tackle the beast not picking at hairs but Gaston is a panzy and Clayton has no fear hes smart he is often giving a love to hate impression when hes good hes likeable where as when his true intentions are revealed hes a bastard Gaston is to put very kindly a bastard from start to finish hes too cocky it was his ultimate downfall

Hmm... while that is a good point, the same could be said for Clayton and Tarzan himself; especially when Clayton was able to walk after falling from that height near the end. So, both had those elements featured in their films. Haven't seen the 2017 version yet, but I figured that might happen. In the 1991 version, the only time I recall him expressing any fear was at the end of the movie. If that's what you mean, then yeah he did come off as a pansy compared to Clayton, but I wouldn't say he was filled with multiple fears. I also wouldn't say Clayton was fearless considering his reaction when he first met Kerchak and was saved by Tarzan. I think his lack of fear near the end was mostly contributed to him losing his mind. This is what lead to his demise. Again, if we're discussing who is the better villain; his intelligence, personality, and temperament prove Clayton is superior. (I prefer him to Gaston in most cases.) So, I see what you mean.

Clayton was startled by seeing a gorilla for the first time I agree with most of this although Gaston acts cocky and downright rude personality aside Claytons root to his insanity was Tarzan by the end because although Kerchak did indeed take him by suprise this would be because he never knew how to tame a gorilla this may sound silly but in the actual book he kills Cheetas and jaguars with ease so the fact he was outbeaten by a wildman but a man none the less shattered his vision of him being the the ultimate predator tho Iagree 100% by the end he lost his mind in the jungle

Ohhh, I wanted Clayton to win! He has more advanced technology, is smarter than Gaston and is evil instead of just being an idiotic dick! Also, you calculate that Gaston was lifting 300 pounds with one hand. What about the table? 300 divided between 3 women puts them at 100 pounds, a realistic value for each of them but he lifted them whilst they were sitting on the table. That's even more weight to consider. Unless the table was factored in, putting the women's weights at even lesser values.
