I genuinely think this is the one of the best depictions of Spider-Man in regards to fighting. The constant quips to annoy the enemy, the sheer speed and lightning reflexes of Spider-Man…everything. Also enjoyed the fact that the action was shot practically rather than CGI (how it is in the newer films). Makes everything a lot more tangible imo.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I personally believe this is one of the worse depictions I’ve seen. This Spider-Man was annoying tf out of me and I’m a hardcore Spider-Man fan. Sure, he quips to annoy and distract his enemies, also to hide the fact he’s scared (thnx marvel zombies) but I never recalled Spider-Man quipping THIS much in the middle of combat. Im talking comics, games, movies and shows. Bat In The Sun legitimately overdid it with the quips. Especially when MJ was getting choked. It was very out of character. Glad you enjoyed this version though.

I know this is an old video but of all the movies and tv shows this may be one of the most accurate live action depictions of Spiderman in terms of how he moves, his acrobatics, his agility and speed. Spidey is not a trained fighter(not until he studies under Shang Chi that is) but his superhuman speed, super athletic abilities and spider sense enable him to go toe-to-toe with anybody. The acting and humor is close too.

+Oris Cinn Spidey's talking is linked to his fear and strategy. A lot of times he cracks jokes because he's terrified. He also jokes so the villain will focus on him and react out of anger. Depending on what was going on in his head, he would indeed crack a joke with a loved one in danger. Asura is right, the movies have watered down Spidey's lines. In the comics, the only time he shuts up is when he's angry in which case he also stops holding back.

TheWalkingRed Spider-Man in the comics has repeatedly made parachutes out of his webbing. He’s also survived falling off of multiple story buildings at terminal velocity. Once you hit terminal velocity an extra 1000 feet doesn’t matter, you go the same speed and hit with the same force. Gravity has limits. The only way I see Spider-Man losing is through force choke, but he’s beaten telepaths before.

Spidey's speed and agility are far beyond anything even someone like Darth Maul could handle, and his endurance would have allowed him to tahe more punishment than he received in the video. Let's not forget that Spidey has taken out people who could wipe the floor with a Jedi or a Sith in the past. It's not just his powers that are in play here, it's his experience coupled with his imagination and his intellect.

+batinthesun The eyepatch guy had it right. In a straight up toe to toe battle, Maul is clearly the victor. However, if the fight were on the streets of a major city where Spidey can use his tricks, he has a much bigger chance than he would in lets say an arena. While he does has his spidey-sense, Darth Maul has the force, which is basically the same thing except he has telekinesis with it. Which is kinda like webs I guess, but a force choke included. So I vote Darth Maul, despite him being my favorite Sith.

For those who are making comments about how Spider-Man is way too much like DeadpooI it's CLEARLY obvious that they are only used to what you have seen in the films and never picked up a comic book in your life because Deadpool has always been known to resemble Spider-Man especially the wise cracking aspect and not the other way around. Peter Parker has always been bullied in life and never gets the chance to lash out to protect his secret identity but when he puts on that mask his sole purpose is to take it out on criminals by driving them nuts with his sarcastic witty banters as a distraction which actually works. The films have clearly decided to lower that missing element that's key to it's character in the same way that Wolverine is missing his Iconic Mask and comic book accurate costume by Fox Studios and I am glad that Marvel Studio's embraces those aspects for the exception of Thor with his missing helmet because at least they look like the characters from the comics. Batinthesun clearly did their homework and gave true justice to the actual character of Spider-Man within a short segment compared to hours of film material that just couldn't get that iconic missing element from the original source material so thank you.

I get that Spidey is known to be humorous and all that, but Peter would never jeopardize anyone's safety for the sake of making jokes, especially MJ's. Seeing as she was being choked by the fucking Force, it seems really out of character that he would crack any smartass comment at all, because he's as selfless as one can get. People's safety, even a murderer or rapist's safety, ALWAYS comes first in his book. Don't get me wrong, this video is nothing short of amazing (yes, pun intended), but this aspect of Pete's personality really bugged me. I prefer the answers from geeks who actually give reasoning. Spider-sense and Force pre-cog put them on equal footing. The deciding factor is like what one gentleman said ... if Spider keeps his distance, it's his game. If Maul closes that distance, it's over for Peter. In the case of this location, I would side with Maul but this match up is pretty close. I think this video underplayed Maul's Force augmentation. Super cool kill shot, definitely a Spidey kill. In terms of the characters (with regards to characterization) they captured them both perfectly. This Spider-Man/Peter Parker was funnier than both movie iterations thus far. Great timing, fantastic jokes. Maul was perfectly brooding. You could tell this was a popularity vote video by the way Spider-Man was written.

+Antoine Bandele My personal oppinion is that Darth Maul is underrated force user. Lot of people told me he is Exelent Martial-artist but weak force user. Well I would never use word weak about Maul. I beleve he is strong force user (not top level but powerfull and effective) who just prefere his Martial skills, but problem is that lot of people underestimates his force powers, for example because he cant use lightnings. But for me is Maul force user which has to be reckoned with. When he use his martilal arts and lightsaber even with force augmentations than Spiderman win 8/10. But when he use his force powers (telekinesis or force choke) Siderman has no defence againts that. For me this fight is about that how effectively Maul use his force powers because this is best chance againts Spiderman. So in the end I beleve Maul win 7-8/10.

You can actually see Maul trying to do that, but it doesnt seem to work. If you really want to go by logic, then that kick to Mauls face should have killed him already

Yeah, assuming Maul doesn't say....crush spiderman's skull with telekinesis before he can do anything, I think spider man could win in a CQC. Maul is barely a B tier Sith. But the fact that Spider man isn't force sensitive means he has no counters to Maul's powers. Yet Maul can match Spider man's precognition, strength, speed, and agility. Maul would only deal with spiderman in a fair fight in a few, specific scenarios. Any force user strong as Maul would just annihilate any character that doesn't have telekinesis, magic, or tons of durability. If this weren't a popularity contest, Maul would...maul spiderman.

Short analysis: Darth Maul wins as long as he keeps his wits about him, Spiderman wins if he pisses Maul off to the point where Maul can't think straight. Maul is also arrogant and likes to toy with his enemies before finishing them off (case in point his fucking around with Obi-Wan Kenobi which got him cut in half). Maul is definitely the more dangerous of the two fighters, but Spidey's ability to piss people off to throw them off balance gives him one hell of an edge against Maul since Maul is more of a berserker type who never would be a proper Sith Lord; Maul is ruled by his emotions to the point where he loses his overall focus while true Sith Lords like Bane, Zannah, Traya, Sion, Tyrannus (Count Dooku) and Sidious (Palpatine) harness their emotions to fuel their power, but never succumb to them unless they get overconfident or distracted. Maul is a fierce enemy, but he isn't a true Sith Lord and if Spidey pisses him off and then outwits him, then Spidey has a pretty good chance at pulling it off.
