Disney has a habit of doing "Sympathy for the Devil" Movies lately. No Vilian is truly evil (unless it is a Old White Man) and every Vilian is a misunderstood underdog somehow. I think this is Harmfull to children and gives them a False Perspective on Morality.

It's like modern writers think that no one who's born into privilege (like Mufasa) could grow as a person and earn their people's respect, so they had to make him a fish out of water (or I guess a Lion out of water), an underdog, someone who had to climb their way up, rather than someone born there, who manages to prove themselves worthy anyway. There are loads of kings, princes, emporers, monarchs, that proved themselves, despite being born into privilege. It doesn't make them weak, Henry V, Richard The Lionheart, Fredrick The Great, all were born into privilege, yet proved themselves to be worthy leaders.

Gabriel Iglesias talked about meeting the son of one of these oil-rich princes in Saudi Arabia. He was worried he was going to be a spoiled brat, but no, he was dignified and polite because he had been brought up with decorum and a sense of responsibility. There are examples of noble/rich families having arrogant and privileged members, but I’ve heard that a lot of the time old money families carry themselves well and it’s the children of nouveau rich families who are terrors. Think of the stories of the people who think they own the world because their parents or grandparents had some success.
@kostantza1Ай бұрын
Yeah, which is made even funnier because we know that Disney executives, CEOs and entertainment figures always have been underdogs who have fought and f*cked their way through and achieved their positions on their own merits....no one was born into privileged connected families and grew up around other powerful people their parents were on first-name basis with, and no one was educated specifically to take up their parents' profession and gotten gigs and opportunities as personal favors or anything......The hypocrisy is enough to cause an aneurysm.

@DestinHALLBACK-x3z4 ай бұрын
The decision to not make Mufasa and Scar brothers completely destroys the plot and Mufasa’s death from the original movie.The reason why Scar will always be remembered as a threatening villain is because of the fact that he KILLED HIS OWN BROTHER.That right there is a cold hearted thing to do because he did it for the throne. And then, we went on to try and KILL HIS OWN NEPHEW, who admired him. The reason why Mufasa’s death had so weight and impact is because he was betrayed by his own BROTHER! By not making them BROTHERS, not only will it make Scar more relatable and rightfully inherited to the throne and make Mufasa look like he cheated his way into the system instead of rightfully inheriting the role, but it DESTROYS Mufasa’s death, Simba’s development and journey to go defeat his evil uncle Scar after he killed his father, and Scar’s memorable character in general!
@Chippaization4 ай бұрын
tbf in real life for lions to accept an outsider and treat them like family and then betray them is deeper than if they were just brothers. Lions love infanticide so for a lion the ruling the pack to take in a cub not related to him...and perhaps lean towards him ruling next would be an insane betrayal to scar.

Okay so let me list off reason why Scar is the perfect example of a villain 1. He's outwardly hostile towards Simba because he resents him for becoming the next king (Such as guilt tripping Simba about Mufasa's death making Simba think it was his fault when it was actually Scar's fault.) 2. Killing Mufasa after orchestrating his death then watching as his brother begged for his help as he finally sinked his claws into his brother's paws. 3. Made false promises to the badlands and other locations that he would provide for them when he knew he wouldn't. 4. Allowing his jealousy to grow like a weed into hatred and vengeance that ultimately lead to his downfall. 5. Almost causing the downfall of the pridelands thanks to his horrific deeds. 6. Treating his sister in law (sister lion in law) like crap such as verbally attacking her and slapping her so hard he clawed her face. This is why I think Scar is the king of villains and bad animals.

But Wes.......... don't you know that this is going to represent your culture? Lol

I think the fact Mufasa is a stray works well. He earns his nobility and leadership through hard work, and Scar was always a sympathetic villain, we all know he was only evil because he was robbed of something, so this story makes sense

Also in real life it would the most insane thing for a lion leading a pride to take in a outsider, but to later want them to rule after them. Lions and infanticide go hand in hand for reason. So, it really would be a good reason for him to be a villain especially if they bonded to feel like real brothers.

If this adaptation is anything like actual lions, it is very likely that Mufasa became king by besting his father in mortal combat

Just remember this is connected to the 2019 remake and not the original masterpiece.

Sure, they changed the lore, BUT they'll also show why Mufasa would solo all Pokémon. I'm excited for that.
