@MrOwestyo Didn't keep the camera dry at all... it is a Sony DSC-TX5 waterproof digital camera. Great little camera that also does 720p video. There's now a newer version too which does full hd.

Summit plummet is easily top 5 scariest rides I ever been on! I love all types of rides and have been to amusement parks all over the world!!

I went on this in the spring, and it hurt my back SO MUCH!! I haven't heard of anybody else who had this problem, other than my dad who went on it right after me. We had red marks on our shoulder blades and the slide wasn't enjoyable to go down because of the pain.

I slightly preferred Blizzard Beach... and you would enjoy the family raft ride... lots of fun! Plus the snow theme makes it a lot of fun!

@Tinkidink Thanks! Both parks are great. If you like wave pools, then the one at Typhoon Lagoon is much better... the 6ft wave is a great feature!

I agree with Trent. Both are great. Typhoon Lagoon has a much better wave pool (it make waves big enough to actually surf on, BB's wave pool can't), has a water coaster, and a saltwater snorkeling tank with live sharks. Blizzard Beach, on the other hand, is slightly larger, has one of the tallest and fastest speed slides in the country, and has the longest family tube slide in the country. Take your pick and enjoy!

I have family in florida, but i don't get to visit orlando very much. Blizzard Beach is about 2 hours away from where they live. I should visit them next summer when I'm old enough to rent a car from the airport, so i can drive out to Blizzard Beach myself.

I went to Blizzard Beach when I was 11 yrs old in June 2002 I thought they wasn't a lot of waterslides then I think Typhoon lagoon is better haven't been there yet but I hope to go this yr.

@MusicGirl3211 It's hard to say which one is better as they both are great. Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach is great. The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon is the better of the 2 parks. Typhoon Lagoon has 3 coaster slides which are fun, and Teamboat Springs is a great family raft ride at Blizzard Beach. The theming at both parks is great too, but the snow and ice theme at Blizzard Beach is better. Not sure which one to recommend to you! Check out my Typhoon Lagoon video if you haven't seen it yet.

before summit plummit the only water slide i had been on was a 4 foot one at preschool... you can probably imagine what a surprise i was in for... unfortunately i didnt cross my arms and legs in time so i was flailing as i went down.... it was the scariest thing ever... at least now i can say i went on it :)

Great vid! I am going in a couple weeks but can only hit one water park. Which did you prefer (I am sort of a wimp when it comes to rides so I doubt I'd do the steep slides and stuff). The wave pool alone makes me think Typhoon though.

It does get cold here in Florida in December, not everyday, but some days it stays in the 40's, on average the high 50s.

Yea i know, i live in Tampa which is 85 miles Southwest of Orlando and it gets like that, so Orlando isnt that much different if not cooler. Allthough we do get alot of days close to 70. Which still is a bit chilly for a water park. Disney wont open there water parks if the temp drops below 65. If your in South Florida it pretty much never gets cold. But Orlando is in North/Central FL

Jonathan Cronin yeah but when your from up north and it is 20 degrees everyday in the winter,man does 60 feel nice and people will swim in 60s in the winter, especially after last year and it was negative temps everyday for a week!

did you know that? Someone died on Summit Plummet. He took a running start off the top jumped down head-first. He cracked his head open on the fake ski jump. Up until this year there had been a sheet of plywood over top of the place where he hit his head, because it was hard to get at to fix. They have just fixed it this year. That was also the reason why they installed bars on Summit Plummet and slush Gusher... the more you know XD

Yep, they didn't mind whatsoever... didn't even ask. Used a Sony TX5 digital camera. New version of it now is the TX30 I think.

Typhoon lagoon has a huge wave pool with huge waves and you can also snorkel with shakes but blizzard beach has summit plummet

@PimpSquad33 Summit Plummet is great... it is over within seconds too. It's not as bad as it looks, just expect to feel like you were sprayed with a high pressure water gun! I did it 4 times when I was there!

theducttape19 Id agree with the others, Blizzard beach is probably the best for a nine year old and the other's. when i went in 2008 their was a kid's theme play area where there was like a mini obstacle course involving water (Eg. Monkeybars over water and some small slides). Also their was the family raft slide which is great for any age! Thanks Hope this helps :D

The day I did this video, I went down Summit Plummet about 4 or 5 times. I noticed a couple of days later that my calves were bruised and I couldn't work out why. Then near the end of my stay at Disney World I went to Blizzard Beach for a quick 2nd visit and when I felt the pain in my bruised calves going down the slide, I knew what caused the original bruises. Great fun though! :)

Same as most speed slides... you definitely feel it... wouldn't say it hurts, but I guess it all depends on what your pain tolerance is like! :)

I went on this when I was about 12 years old. I remember it being so scary just sitting on the slide waiting for the lady to lift up the bar. I screamed all the way down but when I got to the bottom I couldn't wait to get back up there to go down again😂

I had no hesitation whatsoever... helps that I am not scared of heights! If you are unsure, just remember that it is safe and over in a few seconds... once you do it though, you will want to do it again! :)

It's a flip of a coin! They are both great in different ways. If I had to choose, I would pick Blizzard Beach as the snow theming is great... and so is Summit Plummet. Wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon is better though!

I would say Blizzard Beach... it has great slides for your 13 year old, plus your 9 year old might like the family raft ride (Teamboat Springs)... also, if you look at the kids slides at the 3:19 part of the video, they might be good for your 9 nine year old to start out on.
