I would love to see a comparison between San Angel Inn and Blue Bayou. I know that the menus are very different, but both offer perpetual twilight dining.

I’ve eaten at both and while the atmosphere at each of them is absolutely magical, I was not impressed with the food at either. But atmosphere is a big part of my dining experience at Disney, so I’m satisfied with both.

I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree that the Plaza Inn fried chicken is amazing. It's always surprising that fried chicken at Disneyland can be that good. I've been to DL tons of times but still haven't been to Tropical Hideaway, I kinda just walk by it every time, but you've inspired me to actually stop and check out the options when I head there in September.

As a current CA resident originally form the East Coast, I was definitely team WDW when I first moved here. Then I started to appreciate both parks for different reasons and even came to admit that DL is superior than WDW in some ways. But when it comes to the hotels and restaurants, WDW is vastly superior. That’s nothing against DL, they’ll just never have the room to compete with the diversity of options in WDW.

That’s why WDW exists. The Disney’s wanted more room to be able to expand and do even more. Unfortunately, Anaheim has limited space, so they could only expand so much. Orlando seemed like the perfect location. With politics being as it is now though, maybe it’s not so perfect anymore.

I won't get to experienced Disneyland until next February, so I guess we'll see. Maybe park to park things stack up as described, but my east coast resorts just have far more AND more diversity. Animal Kingdom Lodge alone takes the cake. Then with Grand Floridian's, Polynesian's and Coronado Springs' signature meals...YUM!

I just went to Disney princess breakfast adventures, you have to go to them rather than they come to you. Also they give gifts but they’re only for kids. The pro is that you don’t need a park ticket to experience it, the cons are the fact that it’s only Thursday through Monday and it’s only breakfast. However, it’s an option for those of you visiting Disneyland and are having trouble finding certain princesses in the park😊

The two I was waiting for (unless I missed them, I was trying to multitask) was Via Napoli in Epcot, and Naples Ristorante in DTD. Same ownership, and we love the pizza at both (is the same), but Naples has outdoor seating and it most importantly has Panzerotti. No idea why they don’t add the Panzerotti in Via Napoli. It is amazing and my kids get individual orders of it and skip the pizza. They have wanted to fly out to DL just to eat there. That’s how much they love it.

Naples Ristorante in Downtown Disney right across from the Starbucks (and catty-corner to the Disney Store). Same ownership. Same pizza. But…BUT….they have an appetizer called Panzerotti. Get it. Get two. It’s our favorite appetizer and my teenage girls get individual apps of it as their meals. And we go there every day we are at DL for those. We went to Disneyland this year we hadn’t gone for a few years before the pandemic while we have been at Disney World 3 times and currently planning two trips to DW. I have to say as much as I hear the food is better in Disneyland I didn’t not experience that. The churros we tried were not good. I have to pick DW for the whip because of the Coconut. I really wanted to love the fried chicken at Plaza Inn but it was just so so. I will say that the best thing I have had at either park in years was the special pride month macaron at Jolly Holiday. It was hibiscus buttercream with a tart berry jam and I had two while I was there and wish I had time for more.

(I am not DFB, but thought I would respond). I would say most of the food-related videos are going to stay the same. I am more familiar with Disney World. Unless you are going for the food and wine festival or during the holidays, most of the food at Disney World stays the same. They even kept some of the 50th anniversary food and just re-named them. If you are wondering about Genie Plus, definitely watch the most recent videos. There will also be even more Genie Plus, ride, food plan, etc changes next year.

I have watched you for years. I love your videos. I have not agreed with everything you say all the time, but for the most part - we are in sync. This was the worst video ever. First, the title said restaurants. What restaurant in either park is called "Churros"? Those are snacks. As you mention later - corndogs, funnel cakes are also better at DL. I personally think that a LOT of people let nostalgia get in the way of their judgment when it comes to both resorts. You like to say all the time it is the OG park. (Which is always weird because OG means Original Gangsta... should Disney be referenced that way. Disney Land is the original gangsta park?? Does not even sound good to relate Walt's park with that term) Off the OG soap box and back to my point - As soon as I saw that category (churros), I knew where you were headed. This was going to be a set up for DW to lose. Then , as stated below in other comments, you decide to throw Tony's and Pizzerizzo in the ring and I was screaming "FIX!" from by ringside seat. That is like throwing Peewee Herman in the ring to fight Mike Tyson. I noticed the AK restaurants were not in the mix, they would have destroyed any competition. And let's not forget Disney Springs vs Downtown Disney. Noticed you stayed arms length from that would be beat down. Just the sheer number of restaurants and variety at DW would make it the hands down winner for any family who had a week's vacation and were TRUE foodies. So, I call shenanigans on this video. Still love ya, but...... BOOOOO AJ...... booooo

With Disneyland as my home park, it truly has a special place in my heart. This was Walt’s park; the only Disney park he ever stepped in. My childhood was spent here. And Disneyland has some really nice eating. That said, I can’t believe that Walt Disney World doesn’t come out on top when it comes to food! Just on the international food selections available in Epcot. I admit, I really don’t go to any amusement park expecting gourmet dining. A picky eater, I’ll settle on simply tastes good. Or at least good enough. I really look at the atmosphere of where I’m eating, which makes meals more of a Disney experience for me. But there are many more table service options at Walt Disney World in the parks, as well as many more hotels with lots of dining choices at many different levels. That said, there’s still some fine places that I love to eat at in Disneyland such as Cafe del Zocalo, and Flo’s Diner.

It’s about the quality of the food in DL. The food in DL actually has flavor and heat, unlike the food at WDW. The food at DL tends to be fresher (probably has something to do with being from a state where most of the nations produce is farmed, so less transit time = fresher tasting meals). DL has more variety from season to season and year to year with their food. I think the variety and flavor comes down to the audience they are trying to cater to. DL has mainly local visitors to the parks which means they have to switch things up and keep them interesting to entice people to come back. Food is a really easy way to do that. WDW on the other hand, has mainly non-local guests. People travel for once in a lifetime trips to WDW. This means they don’t have to switch things up and because they are catering to a wider range of people, keeping the food more bland is the safer option. Now, as you said, you are a picky eater. You are probably less likely to notice these things. You also mentioned Epcot. The festivals are good. However, if you have been there multiple years in a row for the same festival, most of the food will essentially be the same from year to year. I’ve noticed that by watching these videos and reading the menus. I would say they switch out maybe 30% of their food items. The remaining 70% is the same from the festival the year previous. From what I’ve seen from DL, the festival foods tend to not be the same from year to year. This is just my take as to why people who are foodies tend to think DL is superior to WDW.

I haven’t even watched the video yet (don’t worry AJ I’ll watch it lol) but I’m already giving DWorld the big win based on sheer quantity alone. Don’t get me wrong, DLand has some bangers, but for every 1 amazing restaurant in DLand, DWorld matches it with 1 amazing restaurant, 1 pretty good one, and probably 3 mediocre ones. Not to mention the sheer variety of cuisine from around the world in DWorld while DLand (while it has some restaurants) focuses a lot of American cuisine or generic cultural cuisine (Asian or Italian)
@raemill4089

Sorry, i have to COMPLETELY disagree with this video results entirely. Having recently done Disneyland with the family, we found the restaurants and food severely lacking compared to Disney world. Been to Disneyland twice now and Disney World many times. We found far more options in our trips to Disney World, far more variety and tasty food there. Also, if you have a food allergy, most Disney World restaurants make sure to go all out to get you something good to eat (for us, it was Celiac). The Disneyland restaurants seemed to be very limited for allergies and often had little to nothing to offer to compensate. Food and restaurants are a subjective thing, i know, but this wasnt even close in our opinion. Disney World restaurants win by a land slide.

Napa Rose is a real restaurant that draws people from all over Southern California with real waitstaff and wine list. The chefs table imo is better than Victoria and Alberts and Mickey (IYKYK) is a 5 star waiter. California Grill is a money grab trying to move people through ASAP. It has never produced anything near fine dining since reopening since COVID. Fireworks wont make me spend money there unless it's 4th of July or New Years Eve. Again Storytellers Cafe locals come for the food and the free valet parking and the ease into the park after brunch. The servers are attentive and there are made to order selections in addition to everything on the buffet line. Tusker House is delightful but again characters have never made a local say lets have brunch at Tusker House before Boma. Geyers Point has a very sad menu and no staff. Dirty tables linger for hours while you wait for them to call you back. I put GCH's homemade seasonal nachos and real servers up against Geyers Point's view any day.
