Disney Cars Toon Mater Private Eye Custom (Mater's Tall Tales)

Mater Private Eye is the only one of the Mater's Tall Tales (Cars Toon), for which Mattel did not release any die-casts. The Disney Store released a 3-Pack consisting of Mater Private Eye, Lieutenant Lightning McQueen and Big D. Tomica also produced Lieutenant Lightning McQueen. The maker of this custom is unknown.

Wow, I think that's about the best custom I've seen here so far. He looks unbelievably awesome, cool review like always! Funny how the same sized hat works for both scales of Mater PI. My fav Toon is Tokyo Mater.

I like the shades of gray on Mater to fit the old black and white retro theme back in the early 1900s! I also like the detective hat on Mater!

Pretty nice, aside from the eyelids this Mater looks fantastic, so clean yet so homemade looking. I love that the customizer used Rescue Squad Mater (Single version) to make him, as the expression goes really well with it.

I believe the eye lid color is a bit darker to mimick the shadow cast from the brim of the hat and to give it a more serious look to him

I saw Mater the other day at the Cars exhibit at the Automobile Museum in my town. Lightning was there too! And the rest of the characters where cutouts. The cars were nice! Lightning was a bit chunky though...he was short...not as long as he should be. But he looked as nice as the one in Peterson so no complaints! I also saw some old NASCAR cars..that were real because they were all beat up. A rare gold plated Delorean (which I have a Hot Wheel of), the BTTF Delorean, Kennedy's Lincoln, Elvis's Cadillac, and an accurate replica of KITT from Knight Rider (who I screamed at because I was kinda not and kinda of expecting him at the same time) and I bought Maters license plate and KITT's which cost me an arm and a leg but it was so worth it! Anyways, this was a great custom! I like it more than the Disney Store verison! I also saw the Oldsmobile guy that was featured at the end here. I saw a car once with the license plate "V" on a road trip! Interesting that his was "D". Great vid!
