I’m doing a bujo this year and becoming more minimalistic in every aspect of my life. My word of the year is focus and I have laughter in there too. I’m so happy that you are going back to school. I love school and have 2 degrees and so many masters level credits. I think you will not regret it. You are such a kind and articulate person and I know you would be a great therapist.❤️ I love your mascot.

Hi Becka, Becky Jo from yoga here. I use an app called FocusByte for screen time and cutting it down. I also moved all my screen hogging apps to the second page of my phone in a folder to remind myself that the only reason why I’m swiping on my phone is to maybe delve into an app I’ll need to set a time limit for. A month ago I was dealing with a lot of comparison problems to people on Instagram and spending hours scrolling but the less I’m on it the less I’m comparing myself to others. FocusByte I used especially for reading if I want to stay focused and off my phone (plus you gain treasure for staying off your phone during the timer)

I would love to read more to ! Once I turned 40 , I stated getting paranoid and having anxiety with each birthday because my dad passed away at 42 with cancer and I a terrified this will happen to me. So every year now I make a list of 40 things I can do for others. I work on the list whenever that anxiety sets in and it always helps. Stuff like : volunteer at a food bank, pet shelter ect. Buy a stranger a coffee , make some cookies are treats for no reason at all and bring to friends/family . Compliment a stranger ect .

Good luck in your endeavors this year! I'm also hoping to make a visit to Disney this June! 🤞🤞 I thought really hard about my Disney mascot this year, and since it's my transition from being a kid to being an adult (I'm also having a milestone birthday!), and I'm graduating high school, moving into college, and majoring in criminal justice, I chose to make my mascot Judy Hopps! And my mantra is going to be "Try Everything." I tend to stay inside my comfort zone and my own little box, so this year, I really want to just grab the bull by the horns and do things for me and do things that make me happy and feel fulfilled. Here's to a good year!

I have been putting off losing weight the past few years. I hope I can buckle down and do it this year. Other than that, I have no other "resolutions", but I love yours. And Show Yourself is the best moment of Frozen 2, hands down. I ALWAYS cry when she sings "I am found!" It's just so powerful!

A good way to own your birthday is to really own your age. There is nothing to be upset about with getting older. It can show growth and really feeling peace with who you are and who you're becoming. Anyway great goals for the year!! I have similar ones as well! We got this ☺️.

It’s so great to see your beautiful face looking cheerful! I also can’t to wait to travel - I’m having serious Disney withdrawals. I’m sure many people are in the same boat. You’re turning 20 - yay! Pretty soon you’ll be able to have your first drink! I don’t know if I have a word per say, but if I had to pick one to generalize, I’d say is direction. Hoping to see you this 2021!

My word for the year 2021 is Hope. My goals for 2021 is to continue losing weight ( I’m down 66 pounds so far), to learn how to blog and to start journaling. My mascot is Belle. The reason I picked Belle is because she is strong, she doesn’t let anyone bully her. Also I love the movie Beauty and the Beast. This coming Christmas I will be getting married ( I hope 🤞) and I want to have a Disney Christmas themed wedding.

My sister had a rough time with the same milestone birthday last year. She actually freaked out and started to think positively about it the whole year before and her birthday is in November. It worked for her because when it came she was in a good headspace. She also planned something special so she had something to look forward to. I did the same on my last milestone birthday so it's good to think of it now. Its hard for some of us especially if at some point we realize our lives aren't what we thought it would be at the age we are. I'm glad and admire you choosing to be positive and seek healing +. Excited to see where your channel and you go this year.

It’s fun how we have such similar goals this year! I’ve started back at college this semester after 20yrs, going into veterinary medicine, and continuing my reading is a big ongoing goal. You’re also how I discovered no-buys and while I went off track last year, I’m more dedicated than ever to it this year. I also absolutely love how powerful Frozen II is, I was taken off guard with how meaningful its messages are to me at this stage of my life. I’ll be turning 40 this December and career-wise, I feel that I’m finally becoming who I’m meant to be. I’m so happy and proud of you for following your dreams- you’re not alone!

My word for 2021 is light. It was a word used during a specific candidate’s campaign last year & it really resonated with me. Coming out of the dark & into the light is my hope for this year!

I have watched Frozen II so many times over the last year as well. Everything about it calms and soothes me! I even play it in the background when I'm feeling overwhelmed or stressed... No specific resolutions or goals this year, I agree we need to be more lenient and give ourselves grace! Loose theme for the year is health... started intermittent fasting for my digestion and hopefully weight loss. It is very cold here but trying to get outside more, I've read a couple books already, working on some decluttering, intentional purchases, etc. Thank you as always for sharing your heart with us.

I am a nurse practitioner and I just submitted my application for a psych mental nurse practitioner post masters program, so I feel you there. No mascot or word for the year, working in the hospital has been exhausting so I feel like I’m plowing through day by day. But I was talking to a coworker the other day about something I was wavering on doing and he said “if covid had taught you anything it should be that life is short. Just do it.” I’ve been repeating this to myself frequently since then.

Listening to you is just so relatable right now, more than usual. Less is definitely more when it comes to most aspects of life and I do believe not putting pressure on ourselves and too many tasks, commitments etc, can all lead to failure or self sabotage. I don't particularly thrive under pressure, but the tricky thing is I love to write down my plans, thoughts, hopes etc, then I get mad at myself that I have put too much pressure on myself lol. I would say my main goal is to adopt a new attitude, to be less self defeating. I am trying a new exercise, that takes a lot of skill, practice to get the right technique, it doesn't come naturally to me, but I want to try so hard. I never think of a word or mascot, but I love that you chose Elsa. She is absolutely my favourite and show yourself is the pinnacle moment for me, I always cry, her realisation of her purpose and who she is, and being the 5th spirit. It is my most favourite scene of the movie. Thank you for sharing that with us. I do wish you a year of peace, love and happiness and every success for all you desire to accomplish. Let this be a more healthier and hopeful year for all of us. 💙💙💙💙💙💙

Every time I listen to Show Yourself I cry haha! It was my song for 2020, the song came on while I was beginning my drive as I moved to a new state for a new job and "leaving my old life behind" and I literally had to pull off the road to pull myself together. It just hit me in the right spot and I still get choked up when I listen to that song!

Great video as usual Becka! I just love all of your content! I am also trying to read more this year! I started my 3rd book of 2021 this morning after I watched this video =) I was inspired by one of your previous New Years videos where you wanted to read at least 20 pages a day! I love to read and it's fun to make it more of a priority! I have chosen Minnie Mouse as my Disney mascot this year. Rock the dots!! Not sure about a word yet. I'm trying to find the perfect one... As for the milestone birthday, I'm 99% sure I just hit the same one this past February 2020 (Leap Day!) and I spent it at MK! Literally days before everything shut down. It was so magical! Don't worry, it's actually a pretty cool "club" to be in!

My word for 2021 is nourish. I will be working on making better food choices and focusing inward and doing things that nourish my soul. My boys are getting older and more independent, so it's time for me to take better care of myself. I’m so glad to see I’m not the only one working on a reading goal this year! It’s kind of scary how Screen time does add up! I recently started looking at my own screen time and phone pick ups and I was shocked! Here’s to a new year of new goals and new journeys!

Most of my goals are the same as they were last year. Not that I didn't accomplish them last year, but that I want to continue in the habits I built in 2020. 2021, the year of more books!! I have also made it my goal this year to try and read again. Read a story and unwind that way vs being on my phone all night in bed. It's never too late to get back into doing things that pass the time and bring joy or peace. Coming from watching your owlcrate unboxing earlier today, I added the books you mentioned to my reading list so I'm definitely down for a book themed mini wrap up/suggestions video. :)

I also have a goal of no social media, at least for now. I watch KZbin occasionally, you and a couple of others that I enjoy. I have a classic literature book list I hope to chip away at this year. I am half way through YTT so yoga books are at the top of my pile. I’d love to hear what you’re reading. I didn’t know you are a yoga instructor! I’d love to hear more about that too. I plan to teach and am terrified. You’ve got this! We’ve got this! Thank you.

My goal this year is to read more, too. I can't believe how I spent an entire year (2020) without reading really anything. Elsa is perfect for your mascot! I haven't picked a mascot for the year, but you have inspired me to do so ... which is also awesome because 'inspire' is my word for the year. I am looking forward to your bookish content and for a fabulous year of healing, growth and coming into our own! 💕

THANK YOU so much for that video! ❤ I couldn't believe how profoundly similar it was to my own feelings (non-resolutions) toward the coming year. I feel like 2020 was meant to give us all a year to reflect and take stock in ourselves, determine what is truly important to us and to shift & adapt - or completely start fresh - on a path that is more organically, healthily ourselves. I want to cherish what is important and leave less room for any kind of negativity and just become the best version of myself possible and a lot of my specific goals (screen less, read more, etc.) align very closely with yours. I wish you - and all of us! - much luck on your journey of renewal!! Xo

Oh my god, heal and transform were my words this year as well! Last year was so painful in so many ways that I never really experienced before and as a result, I really hindered myself from diving into my passions and had a lot more tv/screen time. And I really saw apart of myself that I’ve struggled with for a while so I really wanted to transform myself this year into the badass small business artist that I know I can be. We’re at the end of January and I feel so much better, I’ve made lots of new art and I’m getting ready to have a shop update on Saturday. And then I’ll take a little break to read and get back into journaling which I didn’t hardly do at all last year but is one of my favorite things. So yay for us! Also I desperately cannot wait to travel. I’m getting so stir crazy haha

This was actually pretty inspiring. I related to a lot of the things you discussed. I, too, would like work on my reading more and to heal from the past and start anew. I had my word for this year as "Declutter" and that's not to do with just cleaning but with the mind. I saw an illustration of an outline of a head and a person inside that head sweeping away the clutter of the mind. That really stood out to me, and it even helped me unload a lot of trauma I was holding onto in my therapy session. I felt like I released a lot of weight off my shoulders. I hope this year brings you that as well. ❤️

I'm excited for the book content! Good luck with your other intentions this year as well~ The two biggest things that have helped me reduce my screen time usage are using the screen time controls that Apple/Google have built in where you can set timers on apps and such (but honestly just seeing how big the number was on a daily basis did a lot for me) and just leaving my phone in another room or very much out of reach.

I have noticed that I feel like I am enjoying my life more and more every year. I feel like I spent my 20s stuck in my head or with brain fog. I’ve been reading a ton of books in the last 6 months. I love books. I’m looking forward to hear your thoughts on the ones you read. Where can we find you on Goodreads? I’m really excited for you to go back to school. Which subsequently makes me feel guilty. Aaaaaaaargh, I need to find a happy medium & that’s really hard. If I need to give myself permission to buy that extra Villains pin, then that’s what I’ll do. My screen time has gone up as well, but it’s a great counter balance to watching the news. Making sure I get lots of Disney, oh & ive started making ears too. I have the same reading goal for this year too!! I LOVEEEE thrillers and historical fiction, but definitely need to branch out. I'm on my 6th book for this month too! I'd love to know what you're reading and make some recommendations too :)

My new year resolution was also to read more!! However, I'm slightly less ambitious, my goal is just 2 books a month. I'd love to hear your reading wrapups or book suggestions throughout the year!

I have a color for the year: GREEN. I’ve never been a green person but it’s been presenting itself a lot and I love all that it represents in terms of growth and freshness and eco friendliness and the heart chakra and and and. 💚

I love these videos I feel like we are sitting down at a coffee shop and just chatting although it would be weird if I talked back lol I think your super smart to not have hard goals this year we are still in this pandemic and we don’t know what the year will hold. I love the fact that your going back to school! Ok my word of the year is Healthy I want a healthy body, healthy friendships, a healthy channel you get the idea :) my mascot is Merida I found this on a website and found it really insightful: Merida teaches us you control your own destine and there are no magical short cuts to solving your problems ...it’s going to be a hard year getting my health back and loosing weight like the dr want I need the reminder that short cuts won’t do the problem and she loves who she is and isn’t afraid of that even when she doesn’t fit the mold of what your suppose to be something I need to remember and embrace this year

2021 is still an uncertain year still hard to make plans because of Covid, hopefully things will get better, I hope to get our attic more organised and part of it I want to display my Disney and Harry Potter collection, that’s my plan I hope I get it done 😃

I don't have any goals for this year, because I don't know how to plan when I don't know what tomorrow looks like. Also, my new year tends to start in Feb. & Jan. is like a "breather," "rest over," "pause," time of transition. (This January, I was laid off and my 15-year-old dog died, so... 😬😬😬) I know I want to travel & get back to Disney(land). Jealous you're going back to school. Seems to be all around me. I have two bachelors (Journalism AND Film) that are just sitting on a shelf. Maybe I should go back for something useful??? Accounting??? (Before going to college at 18 I was told I should be an accountant. I thought that would be boring, so I did Journalism AND Film. Now, at 27, I'm jobless and not "rolling in the dough." It's never too late to start over, right?) Turning Big 3-0?

I loved this video. I love the idea of the Phoenix. I need to heal to. It does feel like I burst into flames this year. :). I also would love if you told us a book you plan to read in the month. Then it could be like a book club sort of thing.

I’d definitely like to hear your monthly wrap up. A ton of my daily screen time is reading because I read almost exclusively on Libby on my phone or the kindle app on my phone. Read about 120 books last year.
