Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the comment. Glad you went with the NEX. It's a great camera! I didn't do much correcting for the video since it just threw it together quickly. I bought the 24mm Carl Zeiss lens and videos look great. Its a 36mm equivalent so it's the closest thing to a 35mm film camera you can get with the NEX. Hopefully I can show off the new lens in my next video. Thanks again for dropping by!

Just keep in mind though, the longer the focal length, the more shallow depth of field look you will get. Which is why people use longer focal length for portraits and such. The 16mm makes a great wide lens which is good for recording while walking since its not depending on focusing on spot and and will look less shaky.

Great film. Makes me want to to visit DisneyLand in Cali. Focus peaking(Red) Makes it easier to focus faster. How long did your battery last? What video format(60fps or 24fps)? Once again great video!

I think you may have just sold me on a nex. Great work! Did u have to do much color or contrast correction in final cut? Most nex videos I see are devoid of deep blacks, and lack that filmic look I see in the gh2 and t4i. The pocketability of the nex almost seems worth the trade offs though.

Yea, I used the 50mm 1.8 for that shot. I wouldn't depend on the 16mm to get a shot like that. You would have to get really close to your subject and also have a longer background to have a decent shot. I would recommend the 35mm if the 50mm is too long.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback. The battery life is pretty decent. I bought two spare batteries for the trip, but I didn't use either (granted I charged it when we got back to the room). I recorded initially in 60 but converted it to 24fps in FCPX. Hope that answer your questions =)

lovely video, i am getting a nex-6 and looking for a second lens. I like the shot at 1:53 with the shallow depth of field, did you use the 50 1.8 in that shot ? i think the 50mm 1.8 is to much zoom for me, how is the 16 2.8 ? can you get the shallow depth of field look with it also ?

Very nice movie, congrats! Please tell me....as I can see the movie is not smooth. Is it possible to deal with that? What is the reason of that? Thanks in advance for help :) Aleksandra - Poland

Hi Aleksandra, Do you mean the shake in the video? Majority of the video was shot handheld which causes that. Theres many tools that can help the shake and too many to list. A good way reduce shake with handheld is by apply more points of contact(i.e. holding with two hands, keeping the camera close to the body, etc). Another way is to have a leash on the camera and attaching it to your belt and extending it up to keep it smooth. If I could, I would have brought in a few other items to help me along this trip but packing was limited. Thanks again for watching!
