I was raised in the South, we all went on (at least) one visit to Disney World in childhood (I was 7) but to my memory I always thought of Disney Land as just another Disney World - Uh NO, I didn't even know it was 1st! Love experiencing it with the two funniest English guys on the 'tube.'

I remember staying at the Disneyland Hotel back in June of 1967, when I was only 10 y/o -- my dad had passed on in January, and as my dad, before he passed in January, had been planning on taking me to Disneyland that year, my mom and neighbors made sure I got to go. We couldn't afford one of the tower rooms, but instead got a "garden" room that actually had a live orange tree with fruit in it by the room. Shades of times gone by and all the orange groves in that part of so. Cal. The monorail was a total novelty at that time, and I just remember the whole time being so incredibly magical, not just for myself, but for the adults as well. Walt Disney had just passed months before, and his presence in and around the park was tangible. Thank you, Adam, for sharing the trip you & Gary made recently!
