I love the new version a lot, but this is so nostalgic and campy. I remember riding this over and over when I was younger. Doing the trench run was so iconic. Would love for them to do a throwback event and do this version for a period of time

Back in 1995ish my dad and I went to Disneyland in September, it was kinda cold and dreary but the park was so quiet. I spent… probably close to 3 hours riding StarTours over and over and over again. At least 30 times. There weren’t more than a couple people in line each time so the attendants pretty much let me on immediately after I got out of the gift shop and ran back to the queue entrance, lol. A few times I had the ride to myself, which for a 7yo Star Wars nerd was the greatest thing ever

If this is the original Star Tours ride, it must be the one we saw in 1988. Thank you so much for uploading this, it really brings back some great memories. That initial jump off the track and through the maintenance hatch has been in my mind ever since.

They didn't change Star Tours until 2011, then updated for the new movies a few years later. Same concept though. I like both the original and the new versions.

Great HD quality...I went on the ride when I was 19..the ride opened just 2 weeks before I went on it for the 1st time.....awesome experience....I can remember memorial day of 1991,the park was gonna close in an hr and there was NO ONE on star tours..so, I went on the ride 17 times in a row....they wouldn't let me just sit in my seat more than 1 time..so, I had to run off, thru the gift shop,up the ramp,back to front gate " 1 please"...16 times...fun n funny memory

I never got to see this in person, even though I totally could have, but this seems better than the current version, to me. It's a perfect adventure that actually builds up action and then gives you that climactic battle. The new one feels like it's cobbled together and like the ride scenes are not meant to tell a story, but rather, just to give you something to look at.

I remember seeing this as a kid; begging my parents for one last ride before we returned to the hotel for the night. While I hardly understood Star Wars at the time of my youth, I thoroughly enjoyed the sensation of 'flight' and remember a robot who was 'supposed' to be in command, but complimented us for our flying skills and 'taking a shortcut, eh'. Saw the newer one and liked it except I had to wear 3-D glasses over my glasses because I'm near-sighted!
