Bizarre thing is, in the Star Wars universe this is set long after all the events of Star Wars, the droids have nothing to do so they set up this as a tour operator, yet star tours 2 the adventures continue is set at the time of Star Wars, that’s why this is a starspeeder 3000 and startours 2 uses a starspeeder 1000 as its set earlier

It's been so long and yet I still remembered every sequence and line of this. And my first time riding it at Disneyland. With a queue that wrapped twice up and down Main Street before turning back into Tomorrowland and into the building.

The shot at 4:38 uses a technique that can be seen in A New Hope. The camera pans into a massive 2-D illustration of the Death Star's trench, a laser causes the entire screen to go white, allowing for a seamless visual transition to the smaller 3-D model that the camera enters.

It was all done via Minatures, blue screens, and matte paintings. Just like the original trilogy!
