My Dad went opening day. He would talk about it every time we went. Main Street was his favorite place to be. My Dad was all about the history. I cry every time I walk down Main Street when we visit and remember my Dads Magical place. He passed the love to me and I have passed it down to my children. Thank you for your beautiful videos.

I just realized while watching this video that Disneyland has now existed longer than Walt Disney’s entire lifespan, and much of Disneyland is unchanged from opening day. There is something astounding about that thought. This video is incredible.

I think they are called KZbin Streamy Awards. I vote for this video. It is hands down my favorite ever created and deserves the top award. This video also makes the current DL feel as much like the original park as possible. Emotions are beautifully spoken. Thank you Brickey!

Brickey… another beautiful video. Story and music again, could bring me to tears… the word I most ascribe this feeling to is “hireath”. A longing… I’m of the age that I’ve seen the beginning, taken my (now adult) sons to for the middle, and am gliding into my ending, and most memorable, times of this place. A happy place. Where we make memories and remember ALL of it. The how, the why, and of course, the continuing story. It will be here after we are not. I’d like to think we will be able to see it from afar, and how the people that mean the most to us, are still going and making their own memories. Thank you Brickey.

You truly got to walk in Walt's footsteps with this video. I've never felt so connected to Walt and the history of the park as I do now. I feel as if I got to live it for all 16 minutes. I leaked magic from beginning to end; and again on the second and third watch. Knowing how quick of a turn around this video was, phenomenal, phenomenal job. Can't wait to see the side by side for the 75th!

To think that 1890 was to 1956 as 1956 is to us today. Maybe our perspective of time passing has changed a lot with color photos, then digital photos, videos, etc. but it’s still the same length of time. That’s always an astonishing thought to me. Fabulous video Brickey, worth a spot in the forever archives (made that up, it should be a thing). Just imagine what’s to come! Even with all the money, the corporation, the recently reported negative changes for Cast, I still hope for a better future, for DL,and for all of us. It’s what we make it, of course. What Walt was most concerned about. Don’t ever miss making your voice heard whenever necessary. Gotta look to the future, based in a clear-eyed view of the past. My favorite Mickey quote from Fantasmic is “This is my dream!” Mickey owns it 100%. We should all do the same.

OMG! thank you so much for doing this video. I love it! I had suggested a while ago a video of you filming the park alongside the Record where they tour the park to see what is still the same and how much has changed, this here was so much better, going along with the opening day video. Ron Reagan as a reporter, amazing for us all to see as it was before our time. Happy 67 years Disneyland. Amazing and beautiful work Mark!

@jimlinde27532 жыл бұрын
@@HeyBrickey Hah, a buttonhook is a very olde-fashionedy tool to help well-appointed ladies do up those long rows of tiny buttons. I am willing to bet that they were still available to buy on Main Street when I first visited at age 6! I very clearly remember the women's underthings SHOPPE that used to operate there! I don't imagine they offered any themed souvenir buttonhooks, though-- they're narrow little things-- but if they did I'd be struggling to keep my wallet in my pocket!

I've been to Walt Disney World 6 times, but not once to Disneyland. I really would love to go & see things as Walt did. The ability to put so much in a small space & not make it look like it. To see the window above the fire department where Walt was able to view his dream come true. To ride the same rides Walt rode himself. That is my dream!
