Thanks Brickey. Another really great video. I actually went to Epcot a few times when it was brand new. I lived in Orlando at the time. The park is FAR better than in the beginning. We all enjoyed it, but it was nothing as it is now. Very cool take on the future.

I always like your reviews even when I don’t really agree with you. I won’t be able to ride this till it gets to California but so far from everything I have seen, it looks like a weak story line, no real catchy tunes, less animatronics overall and parts of this story don’t make sense. Do they explain why she shrinks you? Some of the animatronics only look like they have 2 to 3° of movement for something that was supposed to be highly advanced with characters in animatronics that’s not really an improvement over what was there. It does look like they did a really good job on Tianna herself because she is very expressive and looks to have a lot of movement, but that’s by far the best animatronic they have in the ride. The other thing is this is built on a Ride system that was already in place and has carried millions of guests already All they really did was change some window dressing. How is this ride breaking down constantly now when it didn’t really ever have these issues before. But as always, you do a great job with your videos. Keep up the good work.

Brickey, lately you have been speaking my language. I went to high school in Florida and lived there into my early adulthood when I relocated to SoCal. And while I prefer DLR above WDW, I still have fond memories of Epcot and all that it was and still is. I really appreciate your comment about the planter being designed to mimic the birth of all because not a single one of us would be here if we were not birthed and instead of being offended or worried about how it’s perceived by our children, it is a teaching moment and opportunity for education and reflection. Art is subjective and also intended to provoke emotions. Whether people like this design or not, it’s done its job in subjectivity and inciting an emotional response.

I agree with many of your points but I do feel this story just does not work that well. I don't like story lines in rides where the characters have to talk to explain what is going on. Even with that I feel parts of it really are not that clear without further explanation (like being shrunk down). Overall I feel this story is weak on its own and like you said is missing the villian and suspense element of Splash Mountain. The music to tie in with the story also seems to be disappointing considering they had years to come up with some really memorable music. I already forgot it. I think theming to Princess and The Frog had good potential but the story line they came up with was a big miss. This feels like a story after several ideas were floated and they needed to come up with a consensus that pleased enough Disney people.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure is a cheap Rain Forest Cafe and it's not as good as Mission Breakout in Disney's California Adventure and it doesn't follow the plot of the 2009 Disney animated film The Princess and the Frog and it's a bad expansion plot because it's too short and it's not a very good story for the attraction. Other than that, Disney erased history on a classic attraction in both parks in the United States and they made a lot of Disney Park guest unhappy. They should have canceled the project and leave Splash Mountain alone.

Hey Walt (lol)! And, Hey Brickey - wondering about the music playing @ Epcot, and if you're risking a copyright strike? As a novice KZbinr, I'm preparing to release some long-lost 90's footage of mine from the monorail, and curious if the announcements/voiceover will result in a copyright strike ... thoughts? Appreciate you as always - keep up the great work!

Needs to be a hybrid phase first... electric cars still have some catching up to do... also need to look into the impact of charging the vehicles and costs of electricity they need to break down even if it has a solar panel system in play, the ticket prices can go up with adding this as well.

Hey Brickey: There are a number of highly critical reviews of The Princess and the Frog (2009) movie, much of which does not appear in the new attraction. Song of the South (1946) is a wonderful heartwarming family film, and so, Splash Mountain, Brer Rabbit, Bear, and Fox will be missed, for now. I am, however, pleasantly surprised with how Tiana's Bayou Adventure turned out, and no doubt will be as enjoyable in it's own right, minus a few points as you pointed out. : )

I am also glad that they added some other cultural aspects to the park, but I have several black family members that said splash Mountain wasn’t that big of a deal, but I’m only hearing from a few perspectives, I just hope I enjoy it as much as I did splash Mountain, looking forward to riding it at Disneyland.

The international gateway entrance is not only for hotel guests. Many locals use that entrance. Its practical if you dont have a car or want to park hop to head straight to world showcase to dine.
@HeyBrickey
@HeyBrickey Күн бұрын
I said it wasn’t the official entrance because there is no parking lot, bus depot or official Uber stand. I realize others use it. It’s the entrance I use the most. However for what I was talking about taking in context that the official entrance is like coming into EPCOT backwards when compared to the Castle parks they my had previously designed.

@HeyBrickey I see your point! Great video, you would of loved seeing the Epcot Future World right before they tore it down..I never thought about this space now as temporary because I doubt they'd change it again but your on to something there. I also find it fascinating that the disneyland castle the back was suppose to be the front. As if the drawbridge was suppose to be the back to walk over to Fantasyland...*

The Epcot theme park was not Walt's idea. Walt wanted to build an actual city, based on the latest urban planning concepts, in which people lived and worked. However, after Walt died, Disney executives didn't want to be in the business of running a city, so they decided to instead build a theme park based on the idea of a permanent world's fair, with pavillions for showcasing technologies and countries. As for Communicore Hall, for better or for worse, Disney built that to be a multipurpose building that would serve as a venue for corporate events and to support various Epcot festivals.

Thanks for the history lesson dad. I clearly started that they took Walt’s very ambitious ideas for making a small city and converted those ideas into something more realistic.

6:30 false. everyone who has EPCOT as their favorite park, goes BECAUSE of the park-like vibe...and the festivals (because we don't have a worthy nighttime spectacular, any more.) Future World is still great, but it's not as great as we were promised. It's amazing at night. Even Communicore Hall is amazing, at night (go to the other side of World Showcase, and look across).

Backwards usually works for Epcot. If Disney had placed Spaceship Earth by the lake, it would have felt as if they tried too hard to replicate the success of the castle parks. Where the sourness lies is not in what they did, but what they didn’t do. They refused to update Spaceship Earth from its only unpleasant version to give it its long overdo overhaul. That would have tied the “new”Epcot to old EPCOT Center. Then, there is poor Imagination. A re-imagined Imagination would tie the original attraction into whatever they could imagine for the future, with Dreamfinder and without Idle of course. These two pavilions are elephants in the room at WDW. I would have accepted Wallcot for another 10 years had Disney started with these two former great attractions. They put the cart before the horse. This example of going backwards has backfired. It was a big misfire.
