I think you may have higher standards. Which is fine. But Dispersed camping is camping outside of a designated campground, usually in forests or on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. It's also known as free camping. Dispersed camping is typically remote and wild, with little to no amenities like trash removal, running water, bathrooms, or cell reception. Some popular areas may have toilets.

I went to school at NAU in the 1970s. The Sedona area was always tight for space, even back then. Today it is impossible. Quite frankly, they probably do not want to make the camping options desirable. Too many people, too little parking. I have a couple of friends who retired there. As pretty as it is, I wouldn't want to live there full time. Thanks for your vids!!!

Sedona is beautiful but the area is crazy. Very little parking at trailheads, crazy crowds. Apparently they had to get rid of a lot of the dispersed camping there because people were staying for extended periods of time and trashing the land.

The crowds have really made Sedona like Disneyland. Its way too crowded and expensive for me.

I remember being in that area a few years ago, literally a month before those restrictions took effect apparently. OHVs roaring through, litter, and overcrowding were really taking a toll on the place. Supposedly, there was also a problem with tourists encroaching on private land and causing some more damage. Either way, incredibly sad that we won't get to experience Coconino that way anymore.

Did you sleep with the tailgate open? I imagine not though. What a pretty place you found. Best luck with getting nice campsites in WA.

A year ago a man was mauled by a black bear up north...maybe Flagstaff...or Prescott. I think its too dangerous even with man to keep the tailgate open.

May I ask how tall are you? I'm assuming not very tall, that the relatively low ceiling of the Forrester is not a problem? Thank you for your work, your videography is amazing.

I'm 5'5'5". I can sit up all the way on my bed ONLY if I open the moon roof. Otherwise, I can lounge comfortably.

Is your shelter the Kelty backroads or the sideroads? I'm trying to decide which one to get.

It’s the Backroads! I believe it offers the option of much more privacy that the Sideroads.

Is she with some guys? Hearing a guy say "crackling" and the male voices was disconcerting.

Yes. She says she met a friend. Friends are great!

Sedona is not the greatest place to camp. It has been getting overcrowded. We don't even try to go downtown anymore because of the parking and crowds. Where your at is way better to camp at and get away from everyone.
