If you place a second identical prism in an inverted position with respect to the first prism, WHITE LIGHT DOESN’T EMERGE from the other side. Instead, the rays of each color emerge separately and parallel. It is common to read and hear that Newton did that experiment, but it is not true. It is a false idea and it’s easy to check experimentally.

Yes you are right....... Guys just ....try to think conceptually.... Don't blindly believe on books.....He is right .....light will come separately and parallel but the....width of beam is too small that's why we do not see 7 colours......if you put light in a glass slab of 50 cm width by angle of close to 90 degree than you will get spectrum by approx..1cm width.......

3:00 it is not true that a second, inverted prism recombines the fan of dispersed colours into a beam of white light. You need to include a lens in between to find it. THAT is what Newton showed. aapt.scitation.org/doi/pdf/10.1119/1.5018680
