@Megan Frary mam..this lecture is very useful...thank you so much for your contribution. But, I have one sort of doubt regarding the relationship between the strengthening mechanism and the particle radius as, if we will increase the radius r, then the effective spacing L-2r will decrease for a constant L value. Now since L-2r value decreases in the denominator part, it is obvious that the stress required for dislocation movement get increases and the strengthening too. So kindly explain this contradict statement "how the strength decreases with particle radius."

If r is increasing then L-2r will decrease, so it will increase the stress.please clear it.

in fact, she didnt mention that it is for a given f. So for a given f, when r increases, L-2r the interparticle spacing will increase as well (known as coarsening) so the stress will decrease according to the equation.
