Thanks for making a video on the tool, I've added it to the GitHub page which I'm sure you'll be fine with. Just one thing to note on how it sends the track to Serato Live, it's not when the track is loaded to the deck, it's when the track is playing and the Fader is brought up above a certain level (I'm not sure what level exactly, but I believe it's zero) on that deck.

I wish that were true but its not for me, at least on my end. It will immediately show the track info the moment it hears anything other than the song currently playing, I was messin around and did some quick stabs and chirps using the kick on the next song and it will eventually show that song you're about to mix in regardless of volume level as long as the volume level isn't off, null, or at zero, just using it as a (tool/messin around/cueing up/etc), on my end the Fader wasn't brought up at that certain level, it showed the title of the next song the moment it heard anything coming from the next song, so if your just cuttin' in the first minute of the song being played, and this song is 4 minutes...if you have the Serato Playing Now Tool set to 2 mins...it'll show the title of that next song too early, i wish it worked like NOCK mentioned, that would be so awesome

That's interesting. I don't use samples / tools all that much as I'm only really a bedroom DJ. But when I was testing the tool during development, the track would update when volume was applied to a deck, which is what you're seeing with the tools/samples you're using. I have tinkered about with a "delay" feature, as an optional setting, once a new track had be gathered from Serato, it would then wait x number of seconds or minutes before updating the file. The problem with this is if you keep adding a delay on a delay on a delay, it's going to behind or miss data at some point. Having said that, maybe re-working the delay may be a good shout, where by it get's the track information on a fixed time frame (say every 10 seconds) but then the delay you set in the program is from getting the track name to writing it to the file. Leave it with me and I'll have a think about how I may be able to re-work it. I've currently got a lot of people asking for a "Mac" port right now, so I really want to try and get something working for those guys first.

@@DJMarkV Just to touch on this again, I wonder if Serato works differently with a Controller to when you're using Digital Vinyl. When I was doing some testing on the latest version this morning, on my Numark NVII the song details only got sent to Serato at about 40-50% volume on the up fader. Also, thinking about what you said, I assume you're volume fader is at 100% volume all the time and you're using the cross fader? I've not tested this myself, but that may be why when you're cuing, it updates the song information straightaway?

I was in the process of doing this but as soon as I went to the Serato Playlist page a link pops up from Twitch saying it has a "Serato Now Playing Twitch Extension". It appears all you have to do now is down load the extension, link your Serato account to the Twitch Extension, edit the details to "Public" and Twitch does the rest of the work for you. I'm gonna try it this weekend.

Very helpful video thanks ! Just a few questions 😄 I have two Mac using for my steams one for my set up & one for my obs streaming , In which Mac do I have to set up the plain txt. Tool ? Cause I have the txt folder in the one one that used for obs streaming but the txt file dosnt show nothing when I’m playing music ! Everything in my set up is good just I’m stock in that part ! So, I got this to work on a Mac using Wine and doing some configurations. Works flawlessly so far!

Glad to hear it's working for you Brian. I've just ported the program over to the .net Core framework in the form of a Lite version. I'm yet to be able to test it on a mac, but it is working fine on a windows machine. Hoping to be able to access a mac at some point in the next few days, at which point a full release will be made. If you're tech savy, you can download the Pre-Release here - github.com/nockscitney/SeratoNowPlaying/releases/tag/snpl-pr-0.9. Hopefully, the only requirement to install on the Mac will be the .net Core framework itself, which is liked on the Pre-Release page

NOCK thanks for the reply. I downloaded it. Unfortunately, I’m having an issue with serato so I can’t try it. I don’t see the “start live playlist session” button even though I have live playlist option enabled.

@@cliffdeguzman827 Have you turned it on and off in the settings? For what ever reason, each time you go into Serato whether it's enabled or not, Live Session won't show up. Go into settings > Expansion packs find Live Playlist and disabled both options. Close the settings, then go back into them and re-enable them. Then the button should appear in the History Panel. Like I said, don't know why it's like that, but that's a work around that's always fixed it for me

@DJ Lazy Eyez - I created a similar tool that allows the option to retrieve song info from the local Serato history log, so that Live Playlists is not required (although it's an option). It's available for Windows and Mac. github.com/e1miran/Now-Playing-Serato/releases/latest

So what cause your application not to read the history log I’ve got the paths correct for Serato and the text file and in OBS it’s pointing to that same text

@@ReggieWard On initial load it will only read the history session log if it was modified within the last 10 seconds. So if you load a song then start my tool more than 10 seconds after you loaded it, nothing will display until you load another song. This is to make sure that when you start my tool it doesn't pick up the last song from your last session from 3 days ago, for instance. Also, make sure that the __Serato__ folder you are pointing to is not on an external drive. It needs to be the one in your Music folder on your computer. The __Serato__ folder on the external drive doesn't save history.

I will double check the paths but Im sure have them right in your application not pointing to a external and the right location in OBS. Also provide your CashApp or paypal info we need to show our appreciation for your hard work. Going through the Serato Playlist option was a pain.

So the software comes with installers which seems to be different than installing plugins manually in the obs directory like usual. After the installer says its complete, where do we open the program?

Sorry for the delay, but not currently. The track list is displayed through the serato website which doesn’t display album art. There might be a manual complicated way to do it if you are streaming from your serato laptop using OBS and two displays but I’ve never tried it

Alternative!!! When I made this video there was not a lot of options. Now there are tons so please google them. Twitch has a serato now playing extension. Check this kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5LJn6OMaZ6ag6s but there are plenty of other options as well.

that is a good option, but it is not shown on OBS, but directly on twitch. i prefer your method.
