So inspiring and funny. "There's no time like the present, and there's no present like the time." "You'd be amazed at how you can beat your own DNA." Another great Ellis Watson quote not in this speech that I just found is, "“There’s no point in waiting and hoping for a wave, go and create one yourself.”

This is brilliant....i work in mental health and so was really interested in the study for anxiety and depression....will read more, thank you. Love the idea of disruption - i don't have TV and try to get my teenagers out of the house when possible! I now need to work on supporting others to disrupt their lives more positively! More of this stuff please.

I decided that I had to be an explorer when I turned 65 and had to live with extreme chronic pain. So I tried MDMA and dropped acid for the first time.

My cousin David G. Fairchild brought 200,000+ plants to the USA for the USDA. I love kudzu, just one of his plants. Like peanuts there are many things one can do with kudzu. I have a blog called kudzu questions. Maybe I am not as OCD as my cousin, or maybe I was never given the paycheck to enable me to do anything as fantastic as bringing 200,000 plants to the USA. And then he started the National Geographic Magazine with his brother-in-law.

There is no time like the present. Indeed, I already feel halfway into The Matrix. When all the rest around you is changing at an ever faster speed, why invest in learning anything which might take a significant amount of effort and time. Before a new skill is acquired, it may already be obsolete. So choose your avatar and look for comfort and stability in virtual reality. The sentinels will take care of those petty disrupters.

pick up a pen and some paper and just start writing. Don't think about what you're gonna write and just keep writing untill you've written a full page. You'll feel pretty good... plus it's good for your brain

According to the DNA evidence, we're all linked to the first chemistry of self reproduction, so to carry on the trend, act positively and constructively no matter what, to build up the society of the nature and nurture in the global environment. Simple.

Hmmm. Good stuff, but, heck, I clicked on this because I thought that for once a TED talk was being delivered by someone older than I---and he turns out to be about a dozen years younger! I feel like a dinosaur.

It's ok. All doctors are about 20 years old now that I am a senior. Don't you wish we had access to this understanding when we were young? It was there in people like John Lennon, but we were brainwashed to think people like him were dangerous and loony. Now we know, eh?

It doesn't matter how many days you have lived, they are gone. What you can do TODAY is what matters. Creativity is so empowering, and disruption is necessary; there is no creativity of one is following some rule or instructions; it's active.
