don't worry about it, I read a Chinese original manhua called 我为邪帝 (I'm an Evil Emperor) and lots of the fight scenes in there look like traditional Chinese ink painting. Sometimes I can't even make out the heads and tails of it without taking a really good look and I'm Chinese lol

Those are not dirt, they are Chinese painting inspired by ancient era's style. You will also see similar artwork in some of the 2D cutscenes in Wuwa, HSR (XianZhou) or Genshin (Liyue).

11:20 that's not dirt but clawsic styled paintings of mountains. Try search classic or ancient chinese ink paintings, you'll get em.

that dirt is classic chinese mountain painting. and japan one has different style for mountain. its old classic style, japan has more thick lines while chinese looks more abstract.

I think the reason for her 4 leaf clover is to depict how lucky she was. Spoiler . . . . During the Cutscene, we were shown that a baby was holding onto dear life after its mother had passed which she then awakened her resonation(?). Jué sensed this and rushed to the baby's side, but was too late. What then happened is Jué used her powers to reverse back time which inturn, revived the baby. And that baby was Jinhsi.

Yet another insightful video. Wonderful job. JInhsi's Resonator Showcase was the best Kuro's ever done simply for the fact that they had two of my favourite tropes ever. 1. Power Floats 2. Silent Fury (I'm extremely biased) I ended up getting S1 Jinhsi with incredible luck and grinded enough Astrite for her weapon. She's now my new religion.

I see alot of comments correcting the "dirt" already, but i wanted to add something to it. In China there is a type of poetry that has 1 person come up with a line, and another that will "match" with similar words, and make a pairing. This form of poetry is used in many ways, one of which being in celebration or praise. Poetry is also associated with art, and usually are paintings of nature. This translated to Jinhsi's design as seen in the mountain painting and the white lines of poetry, most likely celebrating Jinzhou getting it's new magistrate

I love her design so much, you don't normally see characters with pure white hair/lashes/brows, I love it so much and its why shes my pick between Chiangli and her Magistrate \o/ Also I wonder if the hospital tag thing is actually is one, she did die afterall lol

Good review as usual! I hope you keep doing these. Others have already pointed out the "dirt" being ink paintings of mountains, so there's not much to add there hahaha. I do hope Kuro keeps making characters where it's clear that the design reflects strongly in the story. Everything about Jinhsi feels connected to themes of being Jue's Resonator and the Magistrate of Jinzhou.

The mole is called "beauty mark" not just wuwa, you'll notice be it in any anime fanarts or character design it is often the mole is put below the eye or slightly on the side under the mouth (this one usually reserved for mommy character with thick lips) and nowadays artist tried to put these "mark" on a more... ahem... interesting places :3 Azur Lane also had many characters with beauty mark like this, idk these mark certainly makes me feel something in my neurons
