Yes, you nailed that tone for sure. You have a good ear and play very well. A great tribute to a great guitarist. I play a Telecaster myself and would like to learn more Country-ish phrasing. But I play mostly jazz/blues. What model Tele do you have? Also what amp are you using?

I m not THE expert but this is how you can get there: a tele with some good sounding alnico pickups, use bridge pickup mostly, into a tube amp that can get (very) loud and doesnt go into metal/fuzz zone when cranked. Run a bit of reverb in the signal if you like. Then learn to play like Roy, that is the difficult part :). If you want to get really really close: buy a don mare nancy pickup set, install these as per the correct nancy wiring and play thru an old tweed vibrolux or bassman (with a tube reverb unit). Or search for an old tele or strat that has faulty pickups (like my strat in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpmVqqhvm9WFgMU)

Fantastic man, best Roy tone here out in KZbinland. What are you using gearwise? Don Mare Nancy pickups? What (Fender?) amp and what are the settings? Thanks for helping me out. I have a Maya stratocaster guitar which seems to have 2 out of 3 pickups (middle and bridge) that have the same capacitance issue as Nancy's bridge pickup, but of course I can't play like Roy our you so it stills sounds like myself.
