Interesting he called his best friend Vlad near the end and demanded a camera spot for him (apparently?), so they managed to still be best friends after the notorious thing that happened (you would recognize the name Vlad as the partner-in-crime with Jon when they committed the infamous murder. Aside from obligatory mentions on Wikipedia and others related to the case, I couldnt look up outside the case anywhere else what Vlad is doing now or what he was doing after his time in prison. Really surprised to see he apparently showed up to the Rebirth of Dissection concert, cant imagine how emotional Jon must have felt)

The fact is that Jon got to know him through the scene at the time (94-95) as Vlad used to show up in Black Metal gigs, which is quite a change of mind due to the Temple of the Black Light rejecting any connections with Black Metal nowadays.

MetalAttack1986 that's funny you say that, about dissection and deathspell omega (my two favorite black metal bands of all time) and I agree what you're saying the way they look at life and maybe sometimes the fans, like me, as well. But you have about, these would be some of the greatest black metal bands to see live, of there was a way. Ahhhh! Anyway. .. Jon even admitted to being brainwashed and lead on by too many negative influences, and people make mistakes, oh well.. At the end of the day I have so much respect for his music. He made the somberlain as a teenager and I think storm of the lights bane shortly afterward. He was 20- 21 , I think. That's very strong accomplishment, he has so much aptitude. He was going to be great with music no matter what..

Både musikaliskt och personligt var JN duktigt speciell och han har intresserat mig sedan jag hörde Reinkaos första gången, 2008. Han hade ett alkohol/knark-problem på nittiotalet. Efter straffet slutade han dricka, men knark gick tydligen bra att fortsätta med. Mysko människa, på alla vis.

Så råkade jag höra Reinkaos ganska nyligen och den är ju sjukt bra fast alla varnat för den, sångerna sätter sig direct. Så nu håller jag på att kolla allt jag missat.

@@hnorrstrom Jag började också baklänges, med Reinkaos, som jag spelat sönder. Dissections lilla katalog är i min mening helt perfekt, en svart juvel i en ocean av skräp.. JN var både andligt och musikaliskt långt före sina samtida kollegor. Det ettriga hatet mot Reinkaos har jag svårt att förstå. Varje sann hårdrockare måste ju höra hur jävla musikalisk JN var. Helt genial. Jag gillar också produktionen. Väldigt renskalad, nästan torr.

Dissection isn't really black metal. It's satanic death metal. More in line with Deicide than Emperor. Jon was too good of a guitar player to be thrown into the black metal category.

@@adawong7485 They're just good old Swedish Black Metal with some Death Metal sprinkled in. Jon Nodveidt is the best guitar player to come out of that scene. I'm not that keen on traditional black metals low fi approach, so I love how heavy Dissections guitars are.
