it pisses me of that they did not get to record the next album before Jon was arrested. Off cource we got Reinkaos when he was released and even tough i love that album to I would have really loved to have a third Dissection album in the vain of the first two albums.

Reinkaos grew on me... hated it for a while but definitely the other albums were 9/10's

Yes, heavytom89, that's exactly what I tought when I became aware of his crime...two weeks after the murder he was onstage and talked to me like everything was normal! This still gives me the shivers...I was 20, he was 22...two short, young, skinny, long haired guys talking like friends after a gig...

You would actually be surprised at how many black metal artist listen to electronic music and other styles of music. I for one absolutely love Witch House, Neo Classical, Post Rock, Ambient, Noise, Punk, Pop, Opera ect. "Real" Black Metal to me is music without limitations, in order to create "powerful" BM one must not limit themselves to finding inspiration from just one genre. I'm drunk so I probably should shut up lol

What is the album he is talking about? He said it would be out before the end off '97. What happened to it? Is that Reinkaos?????? That would be released in 2006. Please explain.

Good question. In his final interview he said few parts of it were used on Reinkaos but its not the same. Basically an album we've never got because of his imprisonment, probably tons of better one sadly as himself on this interview and others say that album would've been even darker and more aggressive than their previous two.

I would like to understand what is going on inside a satanist's head. Why would someone choose that kind of life? I assume that for example to Jon Nödtveidt the "worshiping death", "cutting our wrists" and "kill your friends and family" wasn't only (really dark and crazy) humor, because he had actually participated in killing someone and ended up killing himself. So what was going on? Why such a life path? Do his childhood circumstances explain some of it?

I read the "blood fire death" book which is a really good book on the whole swedish metal scene and there is chapter about Dissection with the very last interview he did. Basically his childhood was normal but he said he was always drawn to the dark side and became interested in the whole thing as he grew up. He certainly matured a lot in his last years though

@@Joelvete6 I kinda feel sorry for him. I still consider Jon one of the greatest guitarist, musician and songwriter in the 2nd wave of black metal. All Dissection albums are masterpieces, too bad he was consumed by that MLO craziness.

@@Joelvete6 Jon's mother allegedly killed herself when he was 11. I read it on a forum called flashback.org, a user commented that, but not even they are 100 % sure about the validity of the information. If it were true, it would certainly explain his suicidal ideation, melancholy and obsession with death which lead to the events that followed.

+GoreMasterFlash I get your point totally. But to be really honest I don't think Reinkaos is a brutal album musically. The lyrics though is very brutal and honest. "Storm" is a way more aggressive album, musically.

'Are you going to release the stuff you were supposed to release in 1997-98 before you got into trouble? We were supposed to record an album with a new line-up in '98 but since I ended up in prison these plans where changed. Our forthcoming third studio album next year will include some material/ideas planned for that recording, but since these ideas never were fully arranged or completed, they have evolved and matured a lot during the years. So the album to be recorded next year will be a combination of material written both before and after my imprisonment.'
