Dissidia 012: Duodecim - Cloud vs. 000 Feral Chaos (Perfect Run, EX mode abuse)

Forget EX Revenge Garland or Mega Flare spam Yuna. EX mode Cloud is where it's at.

Fenrir (HP Wall Rush +20%)
Chainsaw (HP Wall Rush +20%)
(none)
Auto-Crossbow (Physical Damage +15%)
Accessories:
Hyper Ring (Damage +5%)
Muscle Belt (Physical Damage +7%)
Sniper Eye (HP Wall Rush +10%)
HP = 100% (x1.5)
Large Gap in HP (x1.5)
No Damage (x1.5)
Maintain EX Mode (x1.4)
Pre-Guard (x1.5)
Hatless (x1.5)
Level Gap 30 (x1.5)
It's possible that EX mode Cloud has by far the easiest time with Feral Chaos. Why? Because his unique Ultima Weapon (Crush) bonus raises all of his melee attacks to high priority, which means they outright beat all of Feral Chaos's brave attacks in priority. You can pretty much just keep attacking and not worry about being parried or blocked (except by, say, Deus Iratus). The whole x2 damage bonus when at full health doesn't hurt either.
Cloud's unique bonuses in EX mode make it worthwhile to do the entire fight like this. Other characters just don't do as much damage in their EX mode in the context of this boss fight, which doesn't justify opening yourself up to EX break from Feral Chaos's assist. Or they can't land HP attacks as reliably as Cloud can, and thus don't get to abuse EXP to EX as often. However, I might still try this setup on someone else again sometime, if I feel it's worth it.
I've watched several other players try Cloud for this fight before, and thought I'd do it using what I believe to be an optimal damage setup for this fight. The only thing I'd consider changing is Fenrir vs. Ultima Weapon. At full health, Ultima Weapon has +1 ATK over Fenrir, but Fenrir has the whole wall rush damage bonus going for it. My reasoning was that if I can hit 9999 brave with Fenrir anyway, then the +1 ATK doesn't really help me, while the HP wall rush damage is always useful. You can still go either way, though.
For accessories, I just went with more damage and wall rush boosts. Mathematically speaking, the best damage %+ build should use Hyper Ring + Muscle Belt/Earring, and as many boosters as you can afford to keep up. If you add, say, a Power Ring, that's only +3% to the +12% you already have, for a flat boost of x1.25 even after factoring in your other boosters. If you used any x1.3 booster that you can always keep up (like Pre-EX Revenge), then you're already getting more of a bonus from that than from the Power Ring (and you're boosting that Sniper Eye too!).
Let's do the math:
Damage:
2x Cloud's EX mode bonus
200% Base for critical damage (Fragile Pride + EX Critical)
+190% damage bonus from accessories
+15% damage bonus from equipment (Auto-Crossbow)
Plug that in to the damage formula: (% bonus and critical bonus add, Cloud's EX bonus multiplies)
(200% + 205%) x 2 = 810% of normal damage. Yeah, that's a lot.
HP Wall Rush:
+40% from equipment
+158% from accessories
25% base + (25% x 1.98) = about 74% of HP hit on wall rush
Gosh, after all of that...where do I go from here?

An ability in the game called EXP to EX allows the player to transfer EXP to there EX Gauge by an certain amount (there's also ones for HP, BRV and Assist). What this player did was equip items to boost EXP so when he lands an HP attack, the EXP amount is transferred to his EX Gauge which in turn gives him/her a full EX Gauge every HP attack since an enemy like Feral Chaos gives a ton of EXP per hit. Ok,thanks.I've just got toi this fight and it's maddening (understatement of the epoch).My party is lv73 Lightning,lv77 Kain,lv95 WoL,Lv100 Sephiroth and Lv100 Cloud (arragned in ascending order for this fight).I can only do about 10-15k damage until I get to Cloud (after several retries per character and "taking" what I think is the best HP chip result for each player,then moving to the next).I use the Omni V5 spam+dodge tactic,saving up Assist for using EX Break.What do you think i should do?

Do you have a EX Mode combination that doesn't require Exp to EX and actually works outside simple 1-on-1 fights because a lot of builds and videos are always during 1-on-1 fights where its easy for anyone to build up EX and maintain it but in something like arcade mode, its damn near improbable to hold EX for more than 15 seconds. I want a build that lets you hold Cloud's EX mode for an entire fight easily from start to finish despite Cloud being strong enough to pummel any character without it

This right here is why Cloud was my main (the fact I am a huge FF7 fanboy helps). My friends who I did PVP with actually banned me from using Cloud in the end, because he was the one character I used that they could not beat me with, even if they went Cloud themselves. 😂

WOW very nice dude got a challenge for you... set up a quest so that you have to fight 5, 000 Feral Chaos in a row as a lvl 1 which ever character you like with no accessory's. This a personal achievement of mine and did it with Cloud.

Actually, no. In PvP matches he is easily predictable, and most of his moves have low priority with long wind up times, not to mention his only REAL HP attack is Omnislash v5 wich connects to Slashing Blow, whic is hard to miss. If Cloud can't stay on his EXMode reliably he's cannon fodder.

with all those things, your Cloud is practically invincible, but what would happen if you add Aerith in your fomula? think about it, if she uses "planet's protector", you won't take any damage, and no enemy could interrupt your attacks, and if she is attacked during planet's protector she won't be blocked.

also ultima weapon; apparently there is a difference between the one you can actually BUY and clouds ex mode u. weapon. Buy: does more damage when YOU'RE at full health. Ex mode: the amount of health the enemy has actually varies on how much damage you do. My suggestion: equip the one you can buy. Yes I understand the whole wall rush thing. Just thought i'd point out that you can have the old bonus along with the new one.
