Okay, maybe I'm not quite as bad with Jecht as I originally thought...but I honestly didn't have much experience with him until today. Since I have a bit of extra time right now due to getting an unexpected extra day off of work this week, I put some time in to finally practicing as Jecht. In the first Dissidia game, I spent less time playing Jecht than almost any other character. The only combo I knew how to do was Jecht Stream to Jecht Blade. Today, I spent over an hour learning the rest of his combos. I got a good feel for his Jecht Stream combos, but I still mess up Jecht Rush over half the time. Ah well...at least this fight was still not too bad thanks to how awesome Jecht Block is against Feral Chaos's Vicious.
Of course, it's fitting that after spending all that time practicing his combos, I still end up screwing up his EX Burst, which I never bothered to practice. You'll notice on my Tidus video that I was never good with the FFX overdrive minigame.
I went with Prishe as my assist because...well, she's Prishe. She's already like Jecht in a little girl's body, so it seemed fitting.

+HushedTerror "Not done yet... Go FLY!!" Ah man, I love Jecht's combos. The timing is ever so slightly different between the first Dissidia and 012 but it's still close. Just keep picking fights with every character and practicing. Once you learn Jecht, then learn the other character's openings with their attacks, you're unstoppable.

Can you see that red flash of light that shows up in the middle of Jecht's combos? That tells you when to attack to continue the combo. But the flash is brief you have to hit the button just before it happens. That's how I learned to use Jecht.

For the EX Burst, just as in the original Overdrive of Tidus, catch it on the rebound. Easy mode. Well, I find that it makes it easier, though I can also catch it on the first swing, most of the time.

@Parallaxal Maybe you should watch TheNeroDB's video on a special Jecht combo. It deals massive damage AND requires a "failed" combo so every time you screw up you can beat the opponent up even harder. Works on MAX AI and players so can't complain. Watch it if you have the time.

Once you get the timing of the combos down it becomes second nature and jecht becomes ridiculously easy. Only other skillset you need to have is knowing when to jecht block

u need to time the buttons. just go in practice and get a feel for it. he becomes really fun character once u master the timings. especially the ground combos

As Jecht, you can't button mash. After his basic BRV attack, watch for a flash. Press O, wait for the flash and time your next O press with the flash. If done right, Jecht will combo into his neck attack, which you can chain into a 3rd after another timed O press. A trick for him though is if you press and hold O or Square, you can charge up his first attack to deal more hits or more power for his HP attacks. Moves like Jecht Blade, Triumphant Grasp and Ultimate Jecht Shot can be chained into his BRV attacks after the 2nd combo but only when timed correctly (and when you unlock them at higher levels).
