The Emperor is the final boss of FF 2 and he's a Major antagonist in the dissidia series, it is safe to say that the Emperor in dissidia almost erased the heroes and his own comrades, he stole a portion of the power of discord from Chaos in order to survive the world's demise. In the original game the Emperor conquered the earth, heaven and hell and he's one of the strongest FF main villians along with Ultimecia, Sephiroth, Exdeath, Kefka.

Everything the Emperor said at the begining is such an obvious reference towards the players of all Final fantasy titles. I kinda laughed at that

He's The Emperor...one top villians of the FF universe and one of the strongest ones 2 along with ultimecia and Sephiroth, his downfall However is his arrogance pretty much like Ultimecia. Futhermore, The Emperor does indeed have his own throne, in the original game he had two castles and one colosseum where he had a throne, The one you see in dissidia is from Castle Pandemonium and the other one is from Aruboth palace of the heavens.

I can't help wondering if there'll actually be more "Dissida"s, mostly because we know that be this game, Chaos won all (or at least, all but a couple) of the previous 11 matches, then Cosmos wins the at least the next 8. I'm just saying that, because it would be kinda cool to see all the different line-ups of characters each side had in each match.

There will probably Dissidas until Square runs out of ideas for the main games (their characters are the ones used as the champions of the respective sides). Now whether or not we see the previous cycles is a different case entirely.
