Dissidia FF - Golbez's Defeat

Golbez is really underrated. He's a pretty fascinating character as is Cecil. These two deserve more love and recognition!

It really pisses me off that they made him into set dressing in Dissidia NT. He doesn't say a single word in the story! Hell, he doesn't even get his Man in Black outfit back when nearly everyone else with a "Endgame costume change" either has it as their story default or at least as an alt. Instead he gets his regular armor and the exact same armor with plus fifty edgy and minus ten saturation.

The entire FF4 cast was certainly under-appreciated, if you can ignore some of the stereotypical actions they made. Quite upsetting for me, seeing as FF4 was the first FF game I played and thus I grew rather attached to these two (and Kain) for mutiple reasons. I do wish we had more than 3 games set in their world, or at least more 3-dimensional remakes to expand on them. They'd have fit very well in KH, if a game came out that had worlds more FF than Disney.

@@BeanMan157 Golbez IS basically Final Fantasy's Vader. Difference is Golbez is Cecil's brother. But other than that, Yeah, don't be surprised if Vader was used as a template for Golbez.

I always thought that Golbez didn't finish off Cecil in the Tower of Zot bc he sensed a familiarity in Cecil he hadn't felt since his parents and when Cecil was a infant. Deep down he wanted to protect Cecil from Zemus but didn't realize his own brother was his adversary bc of the hate he had inside him, Golbez I feel always cared for Cecil hence why he left him in the Kingdom of Baron instead of just killing him outright

Harvey brothers, Sasuke & Itachi. Golbez & Itachi has a similarities, both of them wanted to make their little brother stronger than them. Even though Cecil & Kain, Sasuke & Naruto fights. Golbez and Itachi will make a way to make the bond stronger.

You guys think I'm joking,but if you were to change those three instances of them saying "Brother" to saying the other's name, then this script would read like a romance. A beautiful, heartrendingly tragic romance between two men on opposing sides of a conflict greater than themselves. And the vocal performances absolutely clinch it perfectly.

This was literally the best romantic plot I've ever seen written between two men in a videogame ever. Bittersweet but not too much so. A wedge driven between them, but they're still able to overcome. Mature enough for them to connect on an emotional level and appear genuine, but still enough sexual tension for you to know that, given the chance, they'd make that entire friggen moon their bedroom. Very well done Squeenix. Very well done indeed.
