The game's main story revolves around the twelfth cycle of the eternal conflict between the gods Cosmos and Chaos. During the twelfth cycle, the war is turning in favor of Chaos. Therefore, Cosmos entrusts her warriors-the Warrior of Light, Lightning, Vaan, Jecht, Yuna, Zidane, Squall, Laguna, Tifa, Bartz, Cecil, Kain, Onion Knight, and Firion-with the task of retrieving the crystals that will help them defeat Chaos.
However, Cosmos was not able to foresee Chaos's forces employing an unworldly army of crystalline soldiers known as Manikins, which pose a threat due to their ability to negate the gods' power to revive the warriors after they are killed. Believing their defeat to be inevitable, Kain and the Warrior of Light defeat most of their own allies to stop them from fighting the Manikins and return in an upcoming war. Lightning opposes this plan and leads the other active warriors (Vaan, Yuna, Laguna, Tifa, and Kain) to stop the Manikins once and for all by sealing the portal from which they emerge.

What i mean is, if you gave Opera Omnia the playstyle of NT, it would be amazing, because, for the most part, the story itself is amazing. It's so strange to see these characters so...vulnerable. Like you've seen them get KO'd in battle in their own games a dozen times but in Dissidia, you could actually feel a limit to their strength; that they were getting more and more tired as the battles continued to come one right after another. It made them seem human. Yet they fought literally until the end even though they knew what would happen. People can say what they want about this game but Dissidia definitely added a "human" element to not only the storyline but to the characters themselves.

Thank you for taking the time to upload these cutscenes. I read some of the older comments that mention Cloud's scenes are not completely present in the video, but that is okay. Being fairly new to the Dissidia games on PSP, I am joyous to finally make time to watch this. They dont remember because their memories are wiped each cycle. Except the story goes that Chaos's warriors were allowed to remember and have been getting stronger whereas the warriors of cosmos stayed static and thats where the game starts. So Yuna, Kain, Lightning, Tifa, Vaan and Laguna all did die but that also makes me interested to hear who mighta been in previous cycles. What if, say, Delita from FF tactics was a villain before and was wiped out? Maybe ff16's protag who we dont even know was in one of those cycles. So many cool possibilities.

@@michaeljames6737 Cloud was actually a warrior of Chaos in this cycle. At the beginning of the cycle, he saved Tifa from Sephiroth (there’s a video of it) and then tried to challenge Chaos alone, but got killed. The other warriors were fighting elsewhere

Lol, that is not necessary for this story, Cloud barely has a role in it. 012 is more about Lightning, Tifa and the others.
