Very few characters have a SAFE attack that can go through charged spear. You forget that she also has other moves too. Her ability to zone out almost every character is what makes her broken.

@ColeVecsion Those people are from Dissidiaforums. The tier list on there is based off of tournament data, tournament-wise only 3 people have used Ultimecia successfully (mostly Dave as he won a tournament using her). She he arguably one of the hardest characters to use in the game becuase you need to learn spacing and mindgames. And inb4 you say you can use Ulti well because you play vs AI. And No I was talking about original DFF

@Crimson0089 Part 2: Meltdown is deflectable by timing a charged spear. Also remember that if they do somehow hit she has assists to save her from any mistakes. The opponent cant really assist punish you because they assist would get locked because it would touch the spears.

Ultimecia is annoying for sure since spamming ranged attacks. although I find, Kuja more broken in Duodecim, fast attacks, great with ultima too. he has a great kit. some bravory attacks of Ultimecia can be negated just by dashing towards her

Only characters I see on this list that are a real threat are: Sephiroth (SF spam is hard to handle) and Gilgamesh (his thunder spawns right on top of Ulti so it's fairly hard to dodge). Everyone else has a ranged attack yes but it's either easily blocked by Charged Spear because it has higher priority or is very easily dodged. Take Terra for example, Holy, Blizzara, Blizzard Combo, Meteo are all deflected by Ulti hiding behind her charged spear.

@Crimson0089 Hide behind Charged spear being immune to assists and most characters? Uncharged spear builds assist and gives her an EXTREMELY fast close ranged poke that starts chase. She's extremely deadly at close and long range now, spear covered her huge weakness in Dissidia 1, close ranged fights

@AznPridr Knight spear (like all of her attacks) has 2 forms uncharged: 3 spears come out of her, its reaaaally fast, and it push the opponent (GTFO) and it initiates chase Charged: you hold O and a circle appear in front of ulti, after a moment or release, three crossed spears come from the ground, pushing in the air, they stay on the field a couple of ses, and you can camp behind it

@Crimson0089 Exdeath and Sephiroth are considered top tier. Desperado Chaos was banned in tournaments for being able to destroy 95% of the characters in the game with just 2 moves

@AzumangaFan13 They're uploaded on the accounts: DissidiaForums and TheDissidiaForums It's not nitpicking, it was a big tournament (50+ players) and Feral Chaos users got far and dominated. One person specifically, Mike, had been playing Dissidia for about 2 weeks, he placed third in the tournament just by spamming Via Dolorosa + Kuja assist. He destroyed the best Dissidia players in the game with just 1 move.

What I do us just spam four arrows. When they launch I use hells judgement for an HP attack and it knocks them to the ground then brv assist with jecht and he knocks them back into the air and then another hells judgment. IIRC.... that's how it goes. Two HP attacks and it can't be stopped unless you assist block.

@AznPridr for Hell's Judgment, Ulti charge for like 1.5 sec, and pentagram appears under the opponent and it does a couple of blast in the air, doing brv damage before the HP hit however, if you miss, people told me that its easy punishable, so be careful cuz you're wide open while using it

@Crimson0089 Also remember a timed Charged spear can block maybe 90% of the moves in the game. She's really easy on AI, try playing with a human, 90% of Ulti players I see are way too flinchy and get dodge punished too much. (Based off of first Dissidia, didnt play much online on Duodecim since I quit a while back)

@vc180191 I think that was either a temporary mistranslation (she loses the emphasis on the 'c' in her final form) or the translators taking a little artistic license to give her a little flavor. The Japanese language doesn't have a hard 'c', so they use "ka", "ki", "ku", "ke" or "ko" to pronounce such words.

@BlueBirdChannel Actually no. Everyone got buffs overall but alot of characters suffer from not being able to build assist quickly and/or have long attacks that can be easily punished with assists. (Golbez, OK, Jecht for example)

@murkrowrob I was wrong. Her bravery seemed like it doubled because i had exp to brv on and i had also several items that boosted bravery at certain points. Also It's quite easy to raise her brv to over 2,500 if you follow some methods. Like using her bio attack then making your opponent land an hp hit. Instant break and if the stage bravery is high enough your brv will raise to over 2,500.

Knight's arrows also have longer hitstun. This opponent is one I just quit/retryx34 against. And I defeated Feral Chaos with one character with a normal set of equips.

I personally didn't get Aerith because I couldn't afford Prologus, but I don't really feel I missed out on anything considering she isn't really that good. Her seal evil can be blocked and her Holy takes too long to cast.

@RoboDestroyer Pretty sure you wouldn't, and you have no basis on if you would or not by not having seen me play. Also, those are used to keep opponents away TO KEEP RANGE. Those attacks are to keep foes at a distance. And you supported my point by pointing out her HP attacks are keep away attacks.

@balthier1259 it does damage, it sends the opponent fly in the air (its really funny if you use it near a ceiling, the opponent keeps hurting the ceiling and the spears until they disappear or until he gets out XD) but you can actually use it as a block, like you hold it, and release it once the opponent is in front of you so he'll fly away (and im sure theres a possibility of a great combo with apocalypse there)

I understand Via Dolorosa is delayable, so those who dodge the first tail wave, can get caught by the second one if timed right, but that (by itself) can't really just make him banned. @JunDageki PART 3: Also based on my past performance in Dissidia tournaments I say I use Ulti very well and not to brag but I'm considered one of the best Ulti players in DFF. The rankings have not been updated for the recent tournaments but I'm ranked in the top 10 of all the Dissidiaforums players (100+). Also if you have a PS3 and Ad-Hoc Party we could easily arrange a match and you can prove to me that you can block everything I throw at you. lrn2trollbetternoob

@AzumangaFan13 Try watching the DDFF Tournament videos. Via Dolorosa alone makes FC bannable in competitive play (and he was banned). Saying you can dodge every single attack and counter is theory fighting, there is no way a human player would be able to beat a FC on a small map and is still extremely hard on a large map

On another note, Ultimecia isn't broken, if she was, she would've not gotten hit once. lol She's a great character, who got buffed tremendously for 012, and that makes this game that more interesting.

Well, she kind of is broken. Her long range game is absurdly good, and her Knight's Lance is good at keeping opponents, projectiles, and assists at bay. Her Knight's Lance is also a pretty fast move, so it's very hard to approach her. Long-range fighters such as Kuja (or fighters with good long-range moves such as Lightning) have an easier time against her. Still, most of her match-ups are in her favor: few are even, and even fewer are bad for her.

@UltimeciaKnight Nah you are correct Braver is shorter. Not much shorter but shorter all the same. I never really used it much anyway though. I mostly used it for countering Divine Punishment (from Chaos) or countering Wraith Particle Beam (from Cloud of Darkness) it doesn't seem much more useful than that since even in the original a simple back dodge will avoid it.

@Crimson0089 Haven't played much Kefka in Duodecim. He's decent I suppose but he's really easily assist punished by some characters. The buffs to some of his moves are great though, Shatter Spray is a great move now. Lol Golbez, my old main, he really got hit by the nerf stick. The problem with Golbez is he is easily assist punished because ALL of his moves have horrible cooldown and he has no safe way to build assist. Nightglow is amazing now but doesn't completely make up for his nerfs.

@Crimson0089 Ultimecia was bad? She was high tier in first Dissidia, here she's considered top 3. Most characters have absolutely no way of approaching her when she's hiding behind charged spear (for example: WoL, Cloud) or it's extremely easy to punish/dodge when they do. Ultimecia is probably one of the hardest characters to master in this game. You pick Sephiroth if you want easy tier whoring wins.

@baixiaolang true, but im ALSO wondering how the hell he thinks Knights Arrow has better tracking, looks the same as the first Dissidia to me, now they did change Shockwave Pulsar (it sucks now, literally XD) and Apocalypse, but then again, lots of Caster characters who had HP Attacks that made them immobile in Dissidia, can now move during them, Kefka's Forsaken attack being a prime example, they did alot of rebalancing between Dissidia and Duodecim, most of it for the better

The only thing about her that can make her seem broken is one's inability to get a good hold on her. Don't do obvious frontal attacks, stay close, and you'll be fine. Makes a long-distance fighter's job harder, though.

Yeah. I use Ultimecia as my primary Magic user. Her poised Knights Arrows (charged) are only one instead of two in this game, she's Needed to be able to move during her HP attacks (I think the Emperor countered me one time in the first Dissidia) and you can get Creative... you just have to be Smart when you're fighting her. In Dissidia, if you got in her face, you Had her - the Knights Spear was a Good touch. Fast Execution + Chase? Win.

@UltimeciaKnight I don't think you realized that he doesn't have any equipment on in this fight giving the Cloud an advantage and he still won that's a little broken. And I don't think that Cloud was nerfed or anyting to be honest they made him better in this game but adding absorb to one of his chaining moves and giving him another midair bravery attack plus midair Meteorain which also tracks now. He's better but so are the other characters.

@fission2 Ultima - Slow and won't hit. Remote Flare - Forgot about this, it'll be fairly annoying to deal with this. Blizzara - easily dodged. Blizzaga - lol ground blizzaga, dont think it has infinite vertical range. WoL - no. Yeah Exdeath is pretty much considered the best character in the game already. Emperor vs Jecht was a 9-1 matchup in the first Dissidia. Online is fun, too bad community is shit.

Aw shucks I like her Japanese voice so much better. One of the few ones in the game who have a much better original voice in my opinion. That Hold Knight's Arrow + Wait + Mash Knight's Arrow + Hell's Judgement seems to almost always land a hit on the AI. And I don't know what I was doing. I am now replacing Knight's Blade (midair) with Knight's Spear (midair) (I had the spear on the ground only). On top of all that you can spam tons of magic (and assist) to give you enough time to Time Crush.

Did Ultimecia in FF8 have an accent problem? In my FF8, she had a strange text diffrence, with certain letters prounounced differently (I think K instead of C was one of them) However, this is never carried over to Dissidia, her voice actor speaks normally, so what gives?

One where I'm actually wearing gear and when it isn't my first time playing Ulti in duodecim? And the vids on my account are outdated and the meta has changed a lot since then but it's much better than this crap.
