I kind of had a similar thing happened on October. I broke my wrist right in between the hand and the forearm, I broke both bones, but they didn’t have to do this. I was asleep when they did it.

I fell. and I feel very pain in the wrist, and its hard to me move my hand basically like holding a glass and other things. i feel the pain most everyday and got a swelling too. after 2 days, the pain start to decreases. just feel the pain when i touch it . its commonly what distal radius fracture will feel? do i need go to see the doctor?

Had this done....was only given gas and air......wgich did absolutely nothing !!! Two day old fracture.. was just AGONY going rhrough this 😢

I recently had a similar procedure. Comminuted DR fracture with displacement along the RA joint. Basically, my DR was mushroomed. Surgery may be likely but the docs wanted to attempt closed reduction first. They put me in traction gave me a local but no morphine. Unlike this reduction mine lasted 10 minutes with one doctor pulling as hard as he could, while a second sculpted my DR back into shape using his thumbs. That s@$# HURT.

Disadvantage of doing it in local anesthesia is that if ithe fracture is unstable you're not able to do a osteosynthesis with K-wires right away.
