You mention the Bone Valley often in your videos and last night whilst watching some reality show about python hunters in Florida, I got to see what you mention. They went to the abandoned phosphate plant. Huge. Reports from TV stations back in the day mentioned the ecological disaster that was part of this plant, and the rise in cancer and other related diseases for folks who purchased homes that developers constructed in or near the plant. What a mess! In one scene, using her cell phone app and checking for radon emissions, a four is dangerous and her check showed a 3 on the radon scale. They did catch two huge pythons and 3 kiddie pythons. There's a bounty on pythons, it seems, plus you can sell the skin for boots, I guess. Now, back to your excellent video.

Wow that drone really gives a birds eye perspective on the curve there at Owensboro. When I used to run through there we had to slow down because the curve was sharper than a knife. If we had gone through there at that speed, we could have picked flowers out the window as we rolled! Also that picture of the old crossing and the US-301 bridge is amazing! I've only seen one before of it and there was a little shanty that someone manned in that photo. Thanks Danny and also thanks to Fred Clark, Jr. For sharing this.

One of the nice things about the drone coverage is that it lets us see what is in those gondolas; interesting mix of stone and crushed stone. Great video once again Danny. You always seem to have such a good time out there railfanning.

Danny, I've been watching many of your videos and I think the quality of filming and your narration is excellent. I don't get many opportunities to travel over to the States to railfan, so watching your videos really makes up for this.

What's crazy to me, is the fact that South Lakeland is A851.7 and the place where I go to railfan, south of Richmond, Virginia, is the A26.7.. 825 miles south of me and sees mostly the same traffic! (with some exceptions) Love the video, as always!

The thing about tracks being cut off, as a resident in Jacksonville, i live close to CSX's Kingsland Subdivision, i found out some time ago that the line was originally called Everett Subdivision since the tracks used to go into Savannah, GA however the tracks were cut off in the mid 80's and now it ends in Seals, which is north of Kingsland, also i happen to discover this by complete accident, in the Dennis street area, just close to TTX's shop there's some street running tracks on Harper and Swan Street, the tracks leading to those streets were removed sometime in the 80's, then i discovered that there's two S-Line rail trails, one stretches between Norwood and East 21st and the other stretches between Boulevard St. and Myrtle Ave. i can guess those tracks were removed sometime between the 70's or 80's.

That Q453 looked like some of the monster trains that FEC has been running for years now, with blocks of autoracks, followed by aggregate hoppers, followed by mixed freight.
@UP93905 жыл бұрын
Excellent footage and commentary! Just for future reference, CSX symbols do not have a dash in the symbol between the letter designation and the train number, and between the rest of the symbol and the origin date, for example, a Q453 originating on the 1st would show up on the CSX Mainframe, Paperwork and the Dispatcher Display as "Q45301".
@distantsignal5 жыл бұрын
Correct, but I don't get into the date minutiae. I shoot a lot of trains and it's sometimes weeks before I get around to editing. Too much room for errors in that time expanse.
