You have to consider: this tune was composed in 1999. Holy fucking shit

If Mike or Chris ever stumble upon this little message, just know that you'll never know how important Wide Angle is for me. It literally stopped me killing myself. It gave me hope all those years ago. One day I'll meet you and shake your hand. love xxx

True. Real progressive breaks still feel like it's a genre that has not yet been properly explored, not by a long shot.
@YdaAnn2 жыл бұрын
Cheers. I played this for people and they stopped dead and got lost in it. Couldn’t handle it w the layering and percussive breaks. That mix between the 2 would have worked - but they also played with the soundscape with full symphonies. Just gorgeous.

I had no idea that this would have been 20 years old! I've just came across it for the first time today. It's brilliant.

I close my eyes and imagine a whole city Cyberpunk, with buildings that prevent you from seeing the sun, overcrowded streets infested with lights and neon signs, where each person cares only for oneself. A dystopic future where machines are more human than us. Excellent song.

Played this in my college dorm full whack back in 1999. Fella pops in and says oh if you like this them give this a listen and handed me the New Forms CD by Roni Size. Those were truly great days musically
@baltasarnoreno5973 Жыл бұрын
First saw Roni Size on the tv in 1997 on Jools Holland. He was showcasing all the bands that were up for the Mercury prize that year. Roni did New Forms live and he completely blew my mind. I had literally never heard anything like it before.

Early Hybrid, specifically the album this song came out of, is the iconic sound and feel of them. I wish so much for them to do a return to form but that's pretty much impossible at this point since there's only one remaining member who holds the name, and that's it. I still play the hell out of this album like crazy. Can't believe we're 21 years after the fact now.

Behind Finished Symphony, this is the next favourite track of mine. I seriously can't think of a bad track at all by Hybrid, which can't be said for a lot of artists. I love listening to this tune whilst travelling on a coach through London at night. The sax part especially just seems to fit the journey so well.
