The logical flow and layout of the UI is so straightforward it looks simple, but it is actually brilliant. I can see where I might use the manual to get started and then forget about it. And it sounds great, too. Not half as complicated as any alternatives, either.

Superb to see the Disting family grow, but I am sure this 5 button machine will make me even more confused about which button does what, just like with the Mk4 and EX I already own. It will all be worth it though, so thank you for your hard work!

meta is a port of a pre-existing piece of software(that is frankly annoying to use even with a mouse and computer screen). This is built from the ground for this hardware. Very different.

Os leans hard into the Disting mind set. It's like Elektron stuff. It's an acquired taste. They are super feature rich, but the complexity has a cost. My only suggestion for Os is to enlist the help of someone not so close to the development to do instructional / demo stuff. Someone skilled, but not so close to Expert Sleepers. I feel like the audience would connect with them better. You would get a lot of comments like "this tripped me up, and here is what I did". Just a suggestion.

Hey, looks really interesting... ! But one or two questions before buying... Are the LFO able to be synced with an incoming clock ? And, I'm looking for a FX (delay, reverb) where I can manipulate the "send" - not the mix! If these two things possible, I'm in ;-)
@ExpertSleepersLtd
@ExpertSleepersLtd Сағат бұрын
There's no LFO clock sync at the moment, but it's a shoe-in for a future update. If the effects can't be set up as you want them, you could combine them with a mixer algorithm which *does* have a send.

I've looked at the manual and there seems to be a lot of the ex single algorithm present but i didn't find the looper. I like it a lot on the EX and i thought that this new interface would be a great fit for it. Did you not implement it because it doesn't fit well in the module "paradigm" of having algorithms plug into each others?
@ExpertSleepersLtd
@ExpertSleepersLtd Сағат бұрын
There will definitely be a Looper. I've not done it yet because I wanted to reconsider what was possible on this platform rather than blindly re-implement the EX looper, which is very much designed around the capabilities of the EX.

This is great! However, you should work on the panel look. The module panel has no personality and lack information. For example, why is there no label for button and knobs? It was not important for small module but this one is huge (just a feedback from someone owning multiple ES modules)

Fair comment if this just popped up in your feed - but this is just one of a shedload of videos Expert Sleepers use to "illustrate" their website and manuals (I think they've got one for every algorithm on the Disting Mk4...) - starting each one with a description of the module would get pretty tedious! You're meant to come to it from the product page or user manual... Downside of using KZbin to host videos for your website, I guess - some people are going to get them out of order/context. That said, in the modular synth world, "Disting" is a pretty famous range of modules, so most of the target audience will get what a "Disting NT" is going to be...
