The one thing i've come to realize at the halfway point of my life is that if you want to find the real artists in their trade to learn from they're never in the massive buildings with the Vegas style neon signs flaunting how much business they do and how much their teaching videos cost at their online store, it's people who go above n beyond because they're compelled to, not contracted to. it saddens me to see people doing a job their whole life because it paid the most but they couldn't wait to retire, but to see someone who puts as much into an after hours low value item as they do into an on the clock priceless beauty is very fulfilling. pleas know we appreciate it friend. Ps. yer hair is still fabulous.

Great video - thanks very much. One idea I read, (that I haven't tried myself yet) on finishing the end of the bead - take an open end wrench that is the size of the bead and hammer it down on the end to "close" the bead.
@trevsblog5 жыл бұрын
Rob Basile thanks rob what I have done is cut a section out of a piece of tube and hammer that in on top of the bead, I did it to a Citroen floor that we made and had to get custom made dies made up the bead was so big that it looked awful until I crimped the end down with the tube. Cheers Trev 👍

Super videos Trev! I was shot over here from Urchfab's channel he recommended yours for metal shaping. I am really getting excited to see each video and how to shape sheet metal, I am working on a 1965 Buick Riviera that needs quite a bit of rust repair and no one makes replacement panels so it is all up to me. Watching your videos really gives me tons of useful info I would not really have access to otherwise, thanks tons for the great content. I am not totally familiar with your engines in the UK but I believe it was a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder Ford from a focus you put in the van. Cheers!

I did something not unlike your wooden buck method to install new bright bezels on Smiths magnetic motorcycle tach and speedometers. Assemble the new bezel, gasket, glass, gasket, and speedo/tach, face down on a piece of leather on a solid flat work surface. With a tack hammer, while pressing down on the body a bit, gently tap on the raised edge of the bezel. Only bend it in about ten degrees at a time while rotating the assembly. After a short time, you are done, and the finished result is one that you can be proud of!

Hello Trev. Greetings from across the pond in the states. I have been watching your blog for a few months now and have really enjoyed them. Lots of great information and killer technique's. I have learned lots from your videos. I'm working on a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner 2 door hardtop that I have owned for almost 40 years. Finally able to start the restoration. Have been buying parts and tools for a long time. Please keep up the great videos. Every new one seems to teach me something new I have to learn to work on a different part of my car. As for the Hammer question, I think the new engine for your van is a ford zetec 1.8 liter. Thanks again for your sharing all this knowledge of yours.

Trev, Ive never seen metal shaping explained and executed its simplest form, your work is incredible and inspiring as well! I guess those haters who thought you were trying to fool them, never watched you metal stretch a radius before. Im doing some panel replacement and some of my own fab work on my VW Westfalia. Im just a beginner to it all, including welding. If i can absorb 1% of what you have shown, ill be in a better place! Thanks for taking the time to film, produce and edit your incredible work!
