@@morganc.m1830 it's generally a thing that older people do. I've had friends of my parents and grandma do that to me. She also didn't look like she really knew what she was doing. She was in shock and with that much adrenaline coursing through you, you act without knowing it. To then get that news that the dog is fine is overwhelming because in shock, your mind races to think of all the worst case scenarios. To feel that relief, I think she was one step away from tackling him and kissing all over him because she felt so much gratitude but in her state, didn't realise that that wasn't really acceptable. But I don't know this lady, this is just what I imagine is most likely to be happening based on my experience with these types of emotions and situations. Poor Garfield! he had to suffer because of the staffie's owner! If a dog Is even the slightest bit aggressive then muzzle it in public. If your dog is in heat keep it locked up and then get her fixed. Help control the pet population. Get your pet spayed or neutered. It does not hurt their temperament one bit. And In some cases it can improve their temperament.
@Shaayne4 жыл бұрын
That it doesn't hurt their temperament is bullshit. Let's say you castrate a fearful male dog, it can actually make him much more fearful and if he wasn't fear aggressive yet it is a high risk he turns out that way. Do NOT castrate a fearful dog before you've gotten the fear trained out of the dog, no matter what the fear comes from. That bit of testosterone you take away takes away the tiny bit of self-confidence the dog has. Tons of studies on this. I agree pets that aren't for breeding should be spayed/neutered, but it's not always the case straight away.

I understand very much for the owner that had that little dog and took it to Dr Chris because she has such faith in him to get her dog back.

My dog was blind and diabetic. I worked with her every day training her the ‘go round’ command. In the end I could let her run in the park, actually run. If I called ‘go round’ she would veer around trees and other objects. It gave her so much confidence, she appeared to not really miss her sight. My vet said he’d never seen a blind dog adjust so well.

Of course we all ADORE Dr. Chris, but GREAT JOB Matt on that cataract surgery. It was so cool to see it too.

If that had happened to my service dog, I would have lost my mind. But I’m also fully aware that I’d be a hindrance to the vets if I tried to helicopter them, especially because I’d be inconsolable. The best thing an owner can do for their animals is trust the vets and stand back and let them work.

Watching my husband at the vet with his puppy nearly killed me - he's a tough tradie but watching him and our daughters cry over him was more than I can take.

This poor woman I totally understand that she's going through so much stress.. I cannot imagine going through that, to watch a dog maul mine... Garfield, you're going to be ok buddy! TO EVERYONE if you have a mauling you MUST, MUST pull up the dogs back legs off the ground, they lose balance and let go...
@dianironfeather77854 жыл бұрын
And it's extremely easy, as they lose their balance, to twist and latch on to the offending hands!
