Your work is true artistry! I couldn't help but think how the process of distressing with imperfections and refinishing is a lot like our experience through life. Amazing work!

We are working on it as we speak! Been too long and we’ve got a LOT going on so stay in touch and thank you for checking, it keeps us wanting to continue to do these!

Just love the end result - beautifully distressed. Can this be done with old 1980 oak builder kitchen cabinets? Here in NJ, most people do not understand rustic design and that I want it to look like it comes from the West.
@FishcampАй бұрын
Thank you very much! This technique has no boundaries but just make sure you lightly sand the existing finish to make sure the paint adheres. Have fun with it.

@@Fishcamp I bought some walnut and I'm going to try this! Do you primer first and how many coats of paint do you use?
@Fishcamp3 жыл бұрын
Sounds great and have fun with it! No primer at all and only one coat of paint. Make sure to not put a heavy coat on because it’s tougher to sand out. Follow the steps and you will be happy with the results. Thanks and let me know how it turns out!

@@Fishcamp I finally finished my kitchen. I bought new doors and finished them the way you showed and I now have the kitchen of my dreams!! I am an amateur and they turned out beautifully. THANK YOU for your video!!!! BTW...they look almost as beautiful as yours!

I love to hear this and thank you very sending this. As you can see, it’s not that difficult once you get into it and each step they start to look better and better then the lacquer finishes it nicely! Thanks again for sending this!

Theres some other distressing techniques that you dont show, the ones that look like deep knots and those circular ones. How exactly are you doing those? Amazing work i just haven't been abke to figure that one out.
@Fishcamp9 ай бұрын
The deep knots are real but we usually add “worm” holes and continue the “rot”. We have another video coming out soon that shows a bit more of what we do. Best thing to do is grab some scrap wood, make samples and have fun. Thank you!

Thank you. We use Old Masters gel stain but experiment with whatever you have at hand.

*6:18**, what kind of a stone stack is it on the wall? Is it dry or needed mortar - and what brand is it?*
@Fishcamp Жыл бұрын
It is a chief cliff dry stack natural stone. There is mortar behind but it is brushed out of the joints to give the appearance it is a stack of rocks.

What specific lacquer are you guys topcoating with? Target coatings? General finishes? Chemcraft? Great video and thanks.

We are actually working on a couple to release soon and that red is so tough to beat. I was at the home yesterday and so many detail shots and asked the owners if I could come back and photograph again so stay tune. Check out our website and click contact. www.fishcampco.com

These are such an inspiration! How many coats of paint do you typically do?
@Fishcamp3 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you appreciate these! One coat of paint is all you need and would suggest not putting it on too heavy since you have to sand off in areas. Play with different colors and techniques on different species of wood, you’ll be amazed at what you can do. Thanks again!
@kmay5991 Жыл бұрын
can you put gel stain over chalk paint?
@Fishcamp Жыл бұрын
It may be a little too dry and take too much glaze but make a sample, it could look even better!
@christopherbottrill12013 жыл бұрын
What color is that bluish green color?
@Fishcamp3 жыл бұрын
It’s a tough one to answer quickly. It’s tucked away in a job file somewhere so I would suggest buying several colors that you like and just experiment with them. The colors change with different glazes so just take your time, mark your samples and have fun. Finally spraying the lacquer gives them a nice glow. Good luck.
