KZbin itself will demonetize a video if they feel the language was offensive, regardless of whether some advertisers would actually be okay with those words. This is part of why some youtubers just say whatever the hell they want and rely on sponsorships or patreon instead. And yes it makes absolutely no sense that a video could be about a very violent assault and murder but don't you dare say a swear word in the first 30 seconds.

My partner and I had been walking near this park the day after this happened, with the police tape up and the area cleared out etc. At the time more details had not hit the news. It's not even a far walk to cut through that park through the city. With that relatively short distance, you should be able to walk home from work and feel safe and get home safe.

The vast majority of rapes reported to the police are never charged in court. When they are charged & convicted they often spend no time in prison. In Britain of all the rapes reported to the British police each year, LESS THAN 3% are ever successfully charged in court. Victims wait an average of >2 1/2 years before their case is heard in court. “Less serious” assaults like indecent exposure, “flashing”, “peeping toms”, “stalkers”, “gropers” are EVEN less likely to be charged & punished! These crimes reveal a very dangerous psychology but our legal systems don’t agree!

Only around half of the murders in the US in 2023 were solved. If a stranger jumps me, beats the shit out of me, and robs me in the street, that has the same chance of being pursued in court as a rape. Both of these crimes are extremely hard to prove guilt. Unless you want to move away from an "innocent until proven guilty" frame of mind, we'll have to wait until forensic science gets better. Until then we have to do what we can to make things safer, and that includes improving mental health in our respective countries.

I don't think the guy that vandalized the memorial realized how ironic it was to vandalize Eurydice's memorial. It was just another example of holding a woman accountable for another's actions 💀 He was mad about how some women feel unsafe around men, and so, made it the victim's fault
