It must be nice to be very famous, but only among a certain niche population (i.e. metalheads). Most of the people there clearly didn't know David, so he could just be a normal tourist going cage diving. If he was a huge pop star, he couldn't go anywhere without being pestered.

Karl Merritt I was also somewhat surprised, but then I considered that if you don't listen to hard rock or metal (most of the population does not), you probably wouldn't be able to recognize the lead singer of a metal band, even if he is one of the most iconic vocalists in the genre. Even if you are somewhat aware of who he is, you might not recognize him out of context. Naturally, almost all of the people watching this video would recognize David quite easily.
