Disturbed said they wanted thier music to empower people. This song does exactly that. It is a priveledge to have heard this live.

When they play the song live, he chats with the audience beforehand, tells everyone to have their phones/lighters ready and when they finish the chorus all lights go off in the arena and the only light source is from the crowd with their phones and lighters and it's blinding and amazing. Crazy experience, will never forget

This came out when I was in a dark place in my life. Then my wife came into my life she was my light ... this is our song

My mom died in 2015. The night she died I was sitting on my bed in the dark with a loaded handgun trying to come up with a reason not to end it. At that moment I prayed and realized that there was only One who could and would save me. Then a month later I heard this song. I had to sink to my lowest darkness to find my Light. Now every time I hear it I remember that in my darkest time, He was right there beside me.

Songs like this and "A Reason To Fight" truly show how far Disturbed has come from "Down For The Sickness".
@Sevness2 жыл бұрын
They have come a long way for sure, The Sickness is still killer and good, but watching them evolve, grow, their songs take on more meaning, to hold memories and tell stories, to comment on things, to be a rallying call for people of all walks of life, and know they aren't alone, is what makes them my #1 fav band.

Ya know you are an awesome human being man. To go through all that BS and turn your life around 180 degrees is truly amazing! Disturbed has quite a catalogue of inspiring music. They are an amazing band and I would go see them again in a split second.

David Draiman...a voice to die for! A powerful yet soulful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to rasp/distortion/vocal fry and back on a dime, which is incredibly difficult to do and he makes it look so damn easy! He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before.....just hauntingly beautiful and pure tonal properties to it! An awesome talent and obvious training to deliver what he does!! Can sing like an angel or the devil ! Loved your reaction and your take on David's performance Gibby!! Try "Deceiver", "The Night", "Indestructible", "Divide", "Violence Fetish" and "Enough" by Disturbed too.

Combat Wounded Veteran! Thank you Gibby and everyone for your support! Thank a Veteran, it could be the difference and Save a life! Support Coalition to Salute America's Heroes and Wounded Warrior Project! Y'all don't know what it's like to be Invincible only to come home Broken. Where a lot of the families dont last, and my Combat Brothets and Sisters are permanently scarred, it feels hopeless as even your parents and extended family turn from wanting to be around you, because all they see is what you have lost and all that you won't have a chance to become. But just like we fight in Combat, together we look out for our Brothers for signs of depression and suicide, we show each other what we can accomplish without arms, legs, or a functional brain; and we find hope in Jesus Christ who takes our brokenness and makes us brand new and we look forward to the time in Eternity when there is no more pain, no more sorrow, no more losing friends to suicide!

Got to see these guys on 2019 on january 1st I believe with Three Days Grace and it was a killer concert, when they played this song they had us turn on our flashlights and light our lighters and everytime he said Light we would hold them up in the air and the hockey stadium lit up so bright it was so freaking cool, that was also my first concert and it was my christmas present, but that's not the point, the point is Disturbed is freaking awsome 🤘🤘

So about 6-7 years back I was in a truely aweful place and felt like my world was crumbling around me. A day I was dreading came around and I randomly heard this song on the radio 10 minutes before a meeting that would shape my life forever. I'd been dreading that meeting like you wouldn't believe and had been having some really dark thoughts leading up to it. This is my power song. This is the song that I heard and suddenly realised that no matter what was about to happen in the meeting I was about to have, life is precious and it doesn't matter what shit-sandwich you get dealt. You always have the power within you to rise above it and make the best of a bad situation. 6-7 years on and now I feel I was dealt a curve ball and dodged a rather massive bullet as I'm in the greatest place ever now and rocking out every day! And yes, this song has forever hardened my nips!

This song in particular hits me hard . Coming up in about a month is my 8 year anniversary since I underwent a 32 hour long neurosurgery. I died as they were taking me off of anesthesia. The excellent people who cared for me got me back , I spoke with my friends who died back in 2010 . The one downside was the way the people treated in public after my surgery , a scar you can barely see but the facial deformation is what people notice the most . I’ve had moments when people literally made it known to everyone around them of how I looked .

My husband was burned and asks all the time why it happened to him. The pain afterwards is unimaginable but there is light. You just have to find it. We hope it’s so that safety is implemented so it never happens to someone else. It’s a long road, but that road takes you somewhere. I am grateful he’s still here to walk it with me. Prayers to all going through this struggle. No one knows what they endure. It’s daily retraumatizing having the burned skin scrubbed. Most end up with PTSD. Thank you for your reaction. ❤️

In the last few years I have lost my sister, my grandmother, and the first friend I ever made after I left home. Worse than all those. I lost another dear friend I tried to keep alive despite alcoholism for decades. I kept him going, he dried out, and then it claimed him anyway; a heart attack as he was in recovery. It happens, but it still feels like a deliberate jab at those of us who tried to keep him going. A man who was torn apart before he ever got a chance. I feel like I'm drowning in grief. Sometimes it feels darker than I can properly describe. But I understand this song. I really do. I'll keep going. I just... fuck, I hate getting older. Fuck it right in the ass. Endless loss and no gain.

React to Disturbed's "A Reason to Fight, the OFFICIAL LIVE video. They are advocating the prevention of drug abuse, depression and suicide. Also "Hold on to Memories, the OFFICIAL LIVE video meant for those who lost loved ones. They show photos of members lost from other bands and their own families. They are both amazing and reaching their fans and now have many new fans.

I don’t consider myself a religious person. But I do believe in God and I am very spiritual. I believe that bad things happen for good reasons. I am 63 and had many very bad things happen in my life. I will share some of those details… I have survived. Three suicide attempts, undiagnosed mental illness. 10 years of meth use. (16 yrs clean) Finally at 54 I was diagnosed with Bipolar type 2, also known as bipolar depression. We have had some truly horrible deaths in the family. Something beautiful has come out of each and every one of them. Having this belief system has truly helped me, and my family, get through the hard times. If you know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, you never give up. I discovered Disturbed by watching The Sound of Silence video. I have always disliked metal. But because of David’s voice, and then heard his words. I have become a very big fan of them. Still not a fan of metal though. So you should truly never give up hope. I am now an advocate for mental illness and addiction. That is why I share my story with others. THANK YOU. Oh one more thing, for a truly uplifting and awesome group, you should check out Pentatonix. I do believe you will not regret that decision.

I don't know if this is the incidence he is referring to, but his gf had died by killing herself via overdose. At her funeral, the Jewish (they don't believe in the devil or hell for context) David said the devil was calling to him to kill himself. So it saved his life by showing him there is evil out there. I don't know if he's a Jewish for Jesus now or not, but he kinda seems that way to me based on a lot of his symbolism and interviews. He hasn't outright said so, but idk, I love him regardless. Guy's awesome.
