I grew up with Disney books and story albums (and I still have them ) and song of the south was one of my favs ( would sing zipidy doo da all the time ) !! The uncle Remus books were written sometime post civil war in 1800’s . They were actual accounts of African American folk ( originated on Africa ) tales that were told to children on plantations . It was written about the same time as Uncle Toms Cabin And was definitely not meant to be racist ....it was considered at the time to be the opposite and a look into plantation life and to show the morals of African Americans . It was written in a dialect that was authentic to plantation salves ....this is why it became offensive in the 1960’s and 70’s . I don’t think uncle Remus is actually in the ride ....I could be wrong . The stories should be valued and preserved and I really think disney should shine a light on this and make it a part of black history month or something . Maybe add the stories in Africa in AK or world showcase . It’s a shame to try and erase history !!! You should lean from it and sympathize with it . African Americans should be proud of their African folk tales and they should honor those who had to endure slavery and I would would think want to educate people the absolute brilliance of these highly moral tales !! I praise Disney for this ride !!!

You guys should do a Best and Worst shows at WDW. Include all types of shows - the attraction-type shows like Country Bears Jamboree and Enchanted Tiki Room, the stage shows, the fireworks and light shows, and smaller shows like The Muppets Present and The Dapper Dans. The shows are such an under-discussed part of WDW.

Also, 2 points on Big Thunder 1) I didn't know there was a song about it. Pretty darn cool if you ask me. 2) i heard that we won't get the dynamite scene because Disneyland's BTMR is based on a mine that caved in/exploded, but WDWs BTMR is based on a mine that flooded, and therefore an explosion scene wouldn't fit.

I think Disney would make a killing by providing "plastic pants" for their water rides. Just rent some clear water-proof sweat pants that you can tie as tight as you want around your waist so you can remain as dry as you want for the rest of the day. Just put stations outside Kali River Rapids and Splash Mountain and I might just ride those again.

I doubt very much that any of you have children. Tom Sawyers Island is great when you have kids. I have found that even the best behaved children have a hard time being angels and well behaved all day long. TSI is a great retreat to go to so that this little tykes can run off the fidgets the have. It lets them have a place that they can get the restlessness out. Way better there then in a line or the middle of the walkway. I think that is why it was originally added to the park and why I feel it should never be removed. It does not suck. I don't enjoy it any more but I'm not a kid and my kids are no longer kids. But it still is a great place for what is meant to be. And by the way, Charles is a great addition to the team! His insights and comments are a wonderful addition to the dialog.
