Disused Underground Tunnels & Train Shed

Look What we found in the woods, we went for a walk around the historic micklehurst loop in Stalybridge. We found a disused coal conveyor, old goods shed which has been taken over by the trees and nature and the most exciting thing of all was the hopper and underground tunnel which are to also abandoned and derelict. Me Martin Zero and Mark didnt think we would find such hidden gems in the woods but we did. Hope you enjoy the video

I've been awaiting your footage since Martin's vid and you didn't disappoint! Fair play! I first found the Stairs in 2009 but they were blocked off, I had literally seen the shed and conveyor in google Earth and I was there within the hour! I just had to take a closer look. In 2015 I finally went down and as you also expressed - it does take your breath away! Coal fell between the tracks and down into the hopper, then conveyors transported it to the power station across the canal. There was a tower that took coal up in a kind of square spiral and to the main overhead hopper. Sadly - the Stairs have since been filled in and a large block placed to stop tunnelling. Great clip fella!
