After-Episode Thoughts: 1 - Gabby fully siding with the villains is such a fun and drama filled twist that I did not expect, but considering how the past few episodes have gone, I fully understand how the switch happened. The fact that Tess was like "Hey, that's the game, it's all good, no hard feelings" and Gabby hit her with the "That's what you get for taking out my baddie" as if Ellie wasn't taking up the role as a straight up reality tv star villain lol AND fully lied to her about the villain's alliance and kept the secret from her. It also sucked seeing Ally so crushed when she saw Tess was gone and Gabby looked guilty and ashamed a bit because she kinda realized she did the same thing to Ally that was done to her, but then that mini plot moment was dropped and I was like "Oh -_-" like that could've gone somewhere. I hope that now we're merged Ally and Gabby can have that moment? When Tess was talking to Gabby about Ellie in Episode 8, it really seemed like Tess was trying to say "Stand Up Girl!" cause of the way the game and environment was making Ellie act up and change. Which brings me to my next point (going out of order a bit) 2 - Gabby standing up for and defending Grett was not on my 2024 Bingo Card. Especially because oh how literally SECONDS prior to that, Grett was acting annoyed and talking down to Gabby! It is entirely possible that Gabby realized that even Grett doesn't deserve to be treated that way. The fact that Gabby threatened to go back to the Heroes? That was a power move, she realizes that she's not entirely powerless and can be the swing vote. Gabby is understanding her game potential a bit more, but her emotions are getting in the way of that with the way she targeted Tess and how she wanted to target Tom and Aiden. Also, Grett and Gabby are lowkey similar in regards to having partner issues (obviously not exactly the same but hear me out). So, Grett is dealing with a cruel and insensitive partner who degrades her, belittles her, and actively puts her down because he can. Gabby is dealing with a partner who lowkey switched up her average demeanor into a reality star villain that was being less strategic and more malicious with each step in her villainy. Do I agree with their actions? Hell no. Do I find it dramatic and entertaining television? Absolutely. My point being that both Grett and Gabby are dealing with their partners acting out while only on this tv show, something that only the 2 of them would be able to understand. I truly feel as though we could possibly get a Grett and Gabby redemption in terms of having them make amends to some capacity. I don't see that happening by the next episode, but hopefully by the end of the season. 3 - I genuinely liked Jake in season 1, I felt for him regarding the storyline of his grandmother, his storyline with Miriam, his storyline with Tom, it was all great. I understand why he's upset, I get it, but I just cannot defend Jake at this point, nor have I been able to for a majority of this season. Jake HAS NOT GROWN OR CHANGED since season 1. I thought maybe he was changing for the better in Episode 9 (which even that long is crazy to ask for development) when he scored points for his team helping them win by putting aside his tension for the challenge, but that all went flying out the window the very next episode? For starters, the apology between Jake and Ashley, was so forced that I cannot blame Ally for acting nonchalant and saying "Better late than never" because she has every right to feel the way she does. She is very correct, Jake has not respected her the entire game and has been at odds with her for literally everything. All because he can't control his emotions. Like, Jake, buddy, you are a GROWN ASS MAN, why is Ashley having to act like a parent and FORCE an apology out of you? Why can you not put your petty shit aside so that you can focus on winning 3 MILLION DOLLARS?! Jake is the main reason why this episode's elimination happened. Jake, once again thanks to his own devices, got ANOTHER person in this game he is fond of ELIMINATED... "wHy DoEs ThIs KeEp HaPpEnInG?" LITERAALLY WHY DO YOU THIK JAKE?! The answer is you. You're the problem Jake. You've been the problem since season 1, and you're STILL the problem in All-Stars. It genuinely irks me that someone as insufferable as Jake is being given such a "Main Character" edit. This is his second time being difficult to root for AND his second time getting multiple thumbnails, multiple storylines, multiple main character energy moments. I am just... so over pouring all this time and effort into a character who very clearly can't or won't change. My brain will implode if I see Jake get a redemption arc because at this point he is irredeemable. He ruined Ashley's chances of fixing her families farm (I'll speak more on her later) simply because he wanted to commit Twink-On-Twink crime towards Aiden simply because Aiden is fed up with JAKE BEING AN ASSHOLE WHILE AIDEN HAS DONE NOTHING TO DESERVE IT. I'm sorry, but Jake needs to get eliminated & go on a major therapy excursion.
@arabellathesupervillain8 ай бұрын
4 - Tom... Oh Tom... you and Jake are so alike it's maddening. Assuming the worst, which causes you to lie/act out, which causes more harm than if you had just been a grown adult about it and talked it out in a mature, calm, & cool manner. As much as I appreciate Tom FINALLY talking to Jake (albeit an entire 10 whole episodes into the season), given the context clues, we are able to determine that Tom has been avoiding Jake canonically speaking for OVER A YEAR. However, Tom genuinely did not owe Jake an explanation at all. Tom avoiding Jake this whole time WAS Jake's closure. Tom's constant avoidance WAS Jake's answer on how things were and will be, but he simply just couldn't accept it. Jake finally did accept the fact that Tom had moved on with a new boyfriend, just for his closure to get ripped out of his hands because Tom decided to finally man up and say "Teehee, oops I lied bestie lol xD". I agree with Ashley where she said Tom was treating Jake unfairly, however, it's not solely Tom's fault. Tom had his reservations, justifiably so, because the last time Tom & Jake were competing, Jake ruined his chances of winning simply because he let his emotions get the better of him. Once again, history repeats itself because Jake is also the reason that Aiden & Tom lost THIS challenge. This complete blunder from Jake is the sole reason SHE got eliminated, speaking of- 5 - SPOILER ALERT, Ashley got eliminated this episode simply because of Jake burning bridges with Aiden, Ally, and potentially also Tom when he told him to leave him alone (even if Jake was justified in telling Tom to leave because the lying about a boyfriend was a bit much). Because of all this infighting going on, the "Heroes" couldn't decide a villain to tie the vote with, which left them vulnerable. The Villains knew Ashley was the glue holding them together and knew that the best chance to guarantee the collapse of the Heroes was to take her out. From a game perspective, it makes the most since for that to happen. From a fan perspective, it sucks because I genuinely liked Ashley as a person, but not so much as a character. What I mean by this, is that if you remove Jake from the equation, what purpose does Ashley serve? She is there to act as a friend, a support, a confidant, and lowkey near the end a motherly/parental figure towards Jake. However, all of these traits serve Jake, but not herself. She is a selfless character to the point that it felt as though she really had no character of her own to speak of. Yeah, we know she's a southern bell from Texas who lives on a farm. Sure, we know she was scared of fires because of the barn fire she accidentally helped start & that is why she's trying to win, to help her families farm. However, this is backstory & motivation, not necessarily a storyline. Ashley acted as a support character to Jake this entire season & it irritated me to no end because I so desperately wanted her to come to the realization that "Yeah I love Jake as a friend, but game wise maybe he shouldn't be here if he's this volatile & unpredictable. As his FRIEND, maybe it's not healthy for him to be here." You know, the same thing Tess did for Ellie because of how the game was changing Ellie. The same thinking process applies because although Jake wasn't healed from Tom by the time we see him in All Stars Episode 1, he surely was a lot better than he is now. If we wanted a motherly support character, we could easily swap in Rosa Maria from season 2 in her place and literally nothing would change. The story beats would all be the same. I get why Ashley was brought back, she's a fan favorite, she's fun, spunky, and is a generally good person. However, if you weren't going to do anything with her other than make her a crutch for Jake who is very clearly being set up to have this grand storyline, than what was the point? All this did was Fridge Ashley. For those who don't know, "Fridging" is a term coined when discussing disposable female characters who are killed/written off in order to support a main male character's personal growth as a character. AKA, Ashley sticking by Jake just for it to bite her in the ass and have literally almost every scene this season involve Jake either directly or indirectly, and even motivating him to "keep going and win". I unfortunately believe that her character, or lack thereof, was basically a throwaway to boost up Jake, who I hope I've made it clear by now that I do not care for anymore past this point as a "protagonist to root for". I agree that Ashley was robbed, robbed of her own character, likes, dislikes, relationships (outside of Jake), and so much more. I wish Ashley could have had more to do this season besides being the one who pulls back Jake's leash & (tried her best) to keep him from going aggro. Ashley & Tess share a lot of similarities where I feel as though they didn't have a character besides being a support for a bigger main player in the overall story. Moral of the story, I'm sad that this was Ashley's fate because she had/has so much potential. Also, if I had a nickel for every time Ashley was eliminated on Episode 10 of Disventure Camp, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's crazy it happened twice. 6 - Yul has literally no social skills whatsoever that I am genuinely convinced that if it wasn't for the villains alliance carrying him (cause literally what has he done?) than he would not be here. He is for sure not winning the season because of how Grett, Alec, and Priya are all off put by him, & those are his OWN ALLIES talking. Also, the fact that Intern Emily got fired for helping Yul yet Yul has faced no disciplinary actions? That's crazy. It would have been so damn funny that if for the second time in a row Yul got disqualified/evacuated off the show simply because he just cannot learn to play by the rules. Also, All Tea No Shade, I am just not a fan of the whole Trevor/Emily subplot going on. I do like seeing the production crew characters doing things from time to time, however I feel this season it takes away a bit too much time that could have been spent on fleshing out certain characters more such as Tess and Ashley.

If Jake could control his anger, he would not shoot Aiden. Tom wouldn't be distracted by the conflict between those two, and he'll be just focused on Alec. Even if Alec would hit Tom, Aiden will do the final shot to make the heroes win. Jake needs to go, annoyed me the whole episode, and its taking out the calm mood of my Aiden
@ultimxtemiracxler8 ай бұрын
Yeah, but like this time it's really not nonsensical that he was in a mood since Tom lied to him and then later voted for him, then Aiden shot him. Like wouldn't this be resolved if Tom was open about this way in the beginning? The rivalry won't ferment as much, and they would cause a tie at least. But no one blames Tom😭??? Bcz he's hot. He was hypocritical when Jake did the challenges the same way as him, and stated a hypocritical statement so that Gabby would feel less guilty about voting out Tess. His hypocrisy indirectly costed Ashley and Tess's eliminations.

I feel like Jake and Gabby are going through similar arcs, both unable to separate the game from their personal life and voting based on emotion rather than logic. It's kind of odd since it's usually the Season 2 cast who vote using emotion over strategy. Ashley felt like a bandage on Jake's emotional wounds. So we'll see if he's healed enough to go without his crutch. Although, I'm sure it's going to get worse before it gets better. My guess is it's either going to be Tom or Yul who's next to go. If nothing gets fixed on the heroes side, Tom is definitely out. Not only is he the strongest competitor, but he's the only other person who's tried to patch things with Jake. However, considering Grett got a pep talk from Riya about how Yul is treating her, and with Gabby now standing up for her, Grett's a few steps away from leaving Yul, and all she needs is Gabby, Tom, Aiden and Ally's votes, and Yul is gone.
