@@ventoraveritas2853 Overpricing is not only due to taxation. One important reason for the high prices is that the workers belong to their "interest" unions, which compete against the constant increase in the cost of living by demanding higher wages for their members under the threat of going on strike. A simplified example: So when union X gets its way, and its members get a pay rise - for a while they are happy with their victory, but because their labor became more expensive, it also became more expensive to buy their labor. The result of this is that other industries such as Y and Z will soon also have to demand wage increases in order to continue to buy X's service, which has just become more expensive. When Y and Z receive a salary increase, it will soon be reflected in the price at which the services they offer can be obtained - that is, as a price increase. Now they are satisfied with their situation for a while, but the X group will notice that their salary is no longer enough because the services produced by Y and Z became more expensive. So X starts thinking about ways to get more income... The underlying idea here is that everyone needs to have the means to buy everything as much as before. People are greedy.' The old wisdom, "Not big income, but small expenditure" is still true. But few realize its wisdom. So when everything gets expensive, let's blame the tax collector, whose task is to maintain the structures of society - both physical and mental. When you use free public services in your residential area, the taxman needs money for that. The task of the taxman is never to make a profit - unlike private individuals.

Wind doesn't flow reliably everywhere(actually a very few areas on Earth gets reliable wind flow round the year), everytime. As an example I can say that here in my area we feel strong flow of wind only during storms but we get bright sun almost throughout the year. So no matter how cool wind turbines look, they aren't even a considerable option here(most of the time they won't even move a centimetre) but solar panels are. There's no silver bullet in the renewable energy market at least for now.

I like the idea of a portable wind turbine for some alternative power supply, but you aren't going to replace solar panels with this. Yes you can get wind day and night, yes you get dull days with little sun, but you actually do need quite a bit of continuous wind to get any decent charging power from a wind turbine. As you saw you were getting 20 watts which will do virtually nothing, up to 200 watts which is reasonable but still not fantastic.

Can I ask an unintellegent question? I am not sure but why is it many offgrid people are using dynamic energies? Whether its solar or wind, these are all dynamic energies which relys on a constantly changing source. The amount of energy produce is determined by the amount of sun or wind provide for that day, they recieve so many changes and are not stable. I notice many of you have a backup gas generator which is a controlled energy, meaning this will work for the most part whenever you provide gas to it, it does not rely on natures elements. You can use your gas generator and connect a stablizer and connect this to your solar chargers. If you wanted to go a step beyond this, you can build an HHo generator to then connect to your gas generator this way you run your gas genertaor with the use of water and perhaps some KOH. Anyways, its just something Ive noticed, dont worry about it.
@1SqueakyWheel2 ай бұрын
Yes solar and wind can't be relied upon for full consistency, but that's why there's a method to it in order to maximize daily intake. The generators are costly to run, but it's nice knowing that backup is there.... the trick is to try not to use it's supplement often, and that's how an off-gridder comes out ahead.
@rogermccaslin59632 ай бұрын
HHO? Yeah, that's the secret sauce to making water a fuel. 🤣Of course, I suppose you could use solar panels to provide the electricity to make the Brown's gas and then burn that in your generator. That'd sorta almost make you net zero. After a whole day of full sun, you'd probably get ten minutes on HHO before you need to switch back to dino juice.
