I won’t lie. The party that kicked him out wasn’t too bad at all. I mean in comparison TO SO MANY OTHER stories with the same premise. They were nice. Like I was expecting leaving him for dead or completely shitting on his skills or abilities but naw. Just informed him that he was being kicked, tried to warn him of his bad habit despite kicking him out and even gave him some cash and a way out even if the dude said it was so they could have a bonus if he lived.

Also certain conditions can be complicated, as Linka's case which was thought to just make it to the church and she can be healed, but turn out not that easy. 3. Even if healing is possible, it might be costly, especially depend on how complicated the condition is. And MC is a D rank adventurer, it's not easy for him normally to have a lot of money. 4. AND at the end of the day, SMOKING, in our world or this world, is just basically poisoning yourself. SO if it's curable or not, it's still bad. 5. By your argument, then in this world, it would be okay for people to use weapons/spells to stab/cut/hurt/etc. other people, right? It's not "bad" because "healing exists", right?

They could run into a lot of trouble in the future if they fire him in a public place and handle it poorly. People not wanting to work with or for them, for example, since they might cancel the agreement callously. Well, I'm saying this like it's a Japanese thing but it's just that it's more noticeable there in some cases. For anywhere, if you're looking for an actual career and not just a job to get by, you would check the company's turnover rate, listen to stories about the workplace, etc. This is also the reason in some of these novels for the party trying to kill the mc rather than fire him, aside from creating shitty people for the mc to show up. If they simply died 'due to their incompetence' then there won't be any stories circulating about how terrible they are to work with nor anyone to argue a different side to the story.
