Ditto in Smash Brothers!

Welcome to another "How is this not a thing?" sort of video, where I over arguably one of the most obvious, charming, and insanely disrespectful mechanics that should be in this series! Really any Nintendo or Pokemon related thing with a roster. Like, how was this not in Pokken?! It boggles my mind!

There’s an old fan game called Pokémon Type Wild that had Ditto as an enemy in the arcade mode, and fighting them was, of course, a ditto match. Just something this made me think of.

My only caveat is that Ditto does not have the same Final Smash as whoever he's copying, but instead turns into Master Hand with a smiley face. I don't think Ditto should have the same 'peak of power' that other characters have, but should instead simply copy god. If you really want to get fan service, make it Tabuu instead. With a goofy smiley face. Otherwise idea good, I like Mokujin.

Tabuu would be an excellent choice, simply because that boss has that one iconic shockwave attack that'd work perfect for a final smash. Master Hand WOULD be easier, though, on account of a playable version already being coded into the game.

Do I even need to make the usual "This is how the concept could be fleshed out further" pinned comment? I feel like this is really self explanatory. Sure it's a simple mechanic, one that wouldn't need to exist in the first place if Smash's online set-up wasn't so clunky, but it's the PRINCIPLE of Ditto's inclusion that would be so impactful. The ability to pick Ditto *first* and DARE your opponent to pick your character for them. Just imagine all the fun moments that could create, in both casual and competitive settings, it'd be a hilarious addition to the roster without actually being a true addition to the roster. Bonus points if it doing it in large multiplayer matches has Ditto randomly select who it's dittoing at the start of every stock. Again, it'd be nice if Nintendo just let us run squad strike matches more regularly, but if they're not gonna do that this would be an amusing workaround. Anyways, support Crash N' Smash! If he grows enough I'll make that fabled Sonic video, and if not... I'll probably still make the video anyway, it'll just be a ways off. This gave me an idea. Random classic mode. It selects a random character and a random fight from another character's classic mode. If the original battle gave you partner(s), you will get the same amount of partners, but they will be randomized. The final fight is pulled exclusively from other characters final fights. Also, Ditto classic mode, it selects random battles from other routes, but you copy the opponent, or opponents characters. If the battle has a team, you have a team of cpus that match the opponents team. (Horde battles wouldn't be in Ditto's classic mode.) The final boss would be Master Hand and Crazy Hand, but you play as Master Hand like at the end of world of light!

Soon as you pointed out the guy making your music I knew their stuff was gonna be top tier. Currently listening to their Smash remixes and HOLY FUCK Also yeah Ditto would be sick. I mean I like the Poké Ball summon but this is impossibly awesome and, if it actually happened, Ditto would usurp Ganon as the "Smash Disrespect King". What could be more disrespectful than saying you're better at their main than your opponent is?

A cool concept I’ve always had with Ditto is essentially the ultimate custom character, like you can give it Luigi’s run, Sonic neutral B, Steve’s side special, Wario’s final smash, and so much more, you can essentially combine all of your moves from all of your favorite characters to make one fantastic character of your choosing, maybe a Ditto amiibo could be used to transfer your custom made Ditto into someone else’s console

I'm just gonna...borrow this concept... Though it may make more "in-game" sense if Mew was the one mixing and matching attacks, as Mew can learn any TM/TR or Tutor move, it being Ditto just sounds more fun in my opinion.

I what to bring up Darkstalkers on the topic they are two hidden mimic characters that are unlocked by inputting a secret code at the random select. The first is Marionette, she is a doll who at the start of the match takes control of a copy opponent, is basically mimicking the opponent and works exactly the same as ditto in its video. But I really wanted to mention Shadow. Shadow forces the player to control their previously defeated opponent. If shadow wins the match Shadow will leave it's vessel, turning into stone in the process and possessing the defeated opponent. If the player ranks on the high score (leaderboard) table with Marionette or Shadow, a question mark, "?," will appear instead of a character image and name. Seeing with a concept of a Pokémon, I what to mention Zoroark, another Pokémon that mimic's but is able to do so much more, if you know about Zoroark then you would probably know it's potential as a fighter.

While that idea does sound fun, my personal idea for ditto would be to make him the mokujin of smash. Have him change fighters every stock.

oh this is a fun idea! it may be incredibly basic, but it would definitely be a good addition to help people improve playing as more characters. i have an idea for ditto too, although much more geared toward casual play; it would be customizable like mii fighters, but now every move could be customized. if you want mario's ftilt, dedede's dash attack, luigi's grab and pummel, and mr g&w's up b in a single character… ditto's for you! to not make it overwhelmingly broken and complicated, there will obviously be limitations in place. no limit, no arsene, olimar/rosalina/steve's neutral b's are replaced with kirby's version, no ink/mp/iron-depleting moves, etc. you can save your ditto sets like mii fighters, and its color and nickname are customizable. even if this is super casual-friendly, i imagine competitive players will have a field day creating comp-viable dittos. what do you guys think?

YES this is a concept that i've had for YEARS i love playing dittos with my friends but i also love playing random but using a random number generator to give both people the same character just feels wrong and also takes away from the excitement of the reveal of the characters when the match starts

Yeah this would be the smash equivalent of Eleven from SFV and Mokujin from tekken. I would really like it. I'd love seeing dittoified character designs.

Ditto would be the Random Echo Fighter. In regards to 'the Sonic,' there are already several videos that wish to reboot Sonic in Smash, so I'm wondering if you have an idea that hasn't been mentioned yet. Cause I can give the Smash Team credit and say Sonic does feel right to control (despite some of Ultimate's mechanics making movement feel stilted at times). His literal moveset overtunes his strengths, and his overall representation is much weaker than other guest characters in Smash, relative to how big the Sonic series is. I'd say to make the video so you can move on from your bad thoughts associated with it. Hope it goes well!

Quick concept: what about a new neutral special called, “counter punch” It’s like giant punch, but this move has a new animation where dk puts on his boxing glove from punch out, comes out on frame 9, has half the end lag and kill power, reflects and doubles the speed and kill power of projectiles on top of killing, and can be angled up or down like k rool’s forward smash; about 30 degrees up or down

So if you're in a match with more than two, does Ditto have a timer before he becomes another character. Or is it based on contact; like, say you're Steve, but then Daisy hits you, so you turn into Daisy.

@@GamerTowerDXLol, my bad; the first part was meant as a slight joke. I thought it'd be to hard for the game to switch a character randomly. Then I remembered Stage Morph existed. It wouldn't be too hard to apply that idea to a character as they spawn back in. Sorry if this is long.
