People need to stop saying "Dimash sang it better". Who cares if Dimash sang it better. He's not the one auditioning. This is a very difficult song, and considering that fact alone, Hanna sang it well anyway, regardless if other people sang it better (again, those people aren't the ones auditioning). I think the biggest reason no one turned, is because the coaches don't have the skill or knowledge to coach a singer/voice like that. In the UK, Tom Jones never turned for operatic singing for that reason; not because he didn't think they were good, but because he didn't know how to work with talent like that.

she tried so hard but failed at several passages, as in didn' t hit the right notes and sounded more like screaming rather than singing there and then. il dolce suono / the diva dance is so very, very, very... tremendously hard to sing. she should have chosen another song, then she really could have killed it. her voice is already very good, no doubt, but definetely not made for this one, when even professional opera singers struggle with it. so far i think only inva mula (the original vocalist of this) and dimash kudaibergen are able to sing it perfectly. although jane zhang did a pretty good job on it too. this lady here just didn't do herself a favour with trying this tune, yet very brave of her indeed. kudos for the courage and the effort.

No one is able to sing it perfectly cause the "original" is edited. It's not possible to change the notes so fast as is done in the movie or something like that. (Look it up, was so many years ago I read about this song and how it was made and why they made it that way for the movie.) Then we can all think ofc who does the best possible live version of this song. I think she did a good job. Have I heard people than in my own taste did it better, yes, perhaps 2 or 3 persons. Then by all means considering there are so many that have no clue about this song and where it from etc makes it a very bold choice (and most likely the wrong one) for this competition.

Fun fact: This aria, which was sung by an alien diva in the movie, was purposely written in such a way, that it should be impossible for a human voice to sing it. For the movie, they edited multiple voice tracks together and used electronic pitch shifting and even a synthesizer for some notes. This version here is slightly simplified, but still insanely hard to sing. Great job, lady!

I quickly checked, and I’m pretty sure she lowered it by 2 semitones (or 1 whole tone, someone correct me if I’m wrong). If this were 2 OCTAVES lower, I don’t think even Johnny Cash could sing low enough 😂. It wasn’t perfect, but let’s keep in mind that the song was written to be “unsingable” and was edited to sound the way it did in the film. Considering that, she did great.

Jason Bornstein The lowest note in the original song is the G# below Middle C (also known as a G#3). 2 octaves lower would make the lowest note a G#1, which is the lowest G# on the piano. For reference, a typical bass vocal range begins at an E2, which is 8 semitones (or 4 whole tones) higher than G#1. It would be a rare female indeed who could sing that note! I’m taking the whole song into account, so yes, there are many parts in the song that are high enough that a female could easily sing it 2 octaves lower, but there are too many spots that would be way too low. And my point still stands that this performer transposed the song 2 semitones down, NOT 2 octaves.

Am I the only one listening to this absolutely FLAWLESS performance, on repeat, in 2020, tearing up more and more after each listen? As other commenters have mentioned, the judges clearly have no idea what they’re listening to. They think it’s a joke. This song is well known as the most humanly impossible song to sing, and this woman nailed it. Like...NAILED it, nailed it. And the judges are sitting there looking like a bunch of clueless Spongebob memes...😒😭...what in the actual...yeah...🙄 This is actually really depressing to watch. I was thinking they were all going to turn, in the end...I’m legitimately mad about this. 😫

Nobody turned because it's a talent competition. I don't know where I saw that, I think it was in France : a classically trained voice teacher who worked for American superstars. She was singing so great, Mika had to admit that she's a better singer than him and he would be unable to coach her.
